I blinked and giggled. “That was—” I paused, licking my lips, and trying to gather my thoughts. “Intense.”

“I told you. Come on.” He stood up and helped me off the table. I stood and wobbled. He caught me and quickly put me back on the table. “Here, let’s get you redressed, and then I’ll take you back to get a drink. You need it.”

“How did it taste?” I asked as he helped me put my tights back on. “I mean, it’s not really—”

He smirked. “You tasted like Heaven and hell.”

“Ugh, don’t get poetic with me,” I said as he scooped me up in his arms and took me from the booth.

“I thought you liked that nerdy shit.” He chuckled when we stepped out of the theater and into the hallway.

Una saw us coming out and hurried over. “Are you okay? You look horrible.”

“She tripped and hit her head in the booth. I’m going to get her something to drink. She’ll be fine,” Desi assured her.

When we made it to the break room, we found Aleida taking her break. Desi set me down and quickly got me a bottle of blood. I downed it in two quick gulps, and he grabbed me another. I shifted in my chair, and I suddenly felt the sting of his bite. It wasn’t healing as fast as a human bite, I noted.

Aleida, once again, not reading the room, ignored me, looking like death, and chose to attempt small talk.

“Hey, you like Journey, right? I do too.Don’t Stop Believingis my all-time favorite karaoke pick.”

Desi and I shared a look. I recalled then what he said to me the night before. That I would pay for my words. He smiled then at her and nodded eagerly.

“I love them. We should play them at work more.”

“Really?” Her face lit up as if he had just professed his love to her.

He smirked, crossing his arm. “You are so fucking annoying.”

What did I do?

Jesus, fuck. I just tried to suck her fucking dry. And not in the good way. Fuck, she tasted so good. It was as if all fucking intelligence just left my body and was replaced with pure lust.

“Do you need more?” I took the second glass bottle she had completely emptied. I glanced toward the fridge. There was plenty of blood for her to have, and if not, I’d cut open a vein and give her some of my own.

She looked pale, sickly. Her normal tan looked almost yellow.

“That fall must have really knocked you out. You look horrible,” Aleida said to Scout. Scout’s eyes drifted to her, and annoyance was clear on her face. Aleida glanced at me for support, and then she blinked.

“Whoa, what’s with your eyes?”

My hand snapped to my shirt, where my sunglasses were. I pulled them out and slipped them on. “Don’t worry about it.” I turned to Scout. “Do you want me to take you home?” I asked.

“I can do it. Or Una. It’s probably not a good idea to have both managers gone.” Aleida pointed out. I almost snarled at her. I got it. She was into me. She was hot, but I wasn’t interested.

“She’s right. I’ll just call Arsenio,” Scout said and tried to stand. She wobbled again, and I thrust my arms out to catch her.

I did not want to see Arsenio right now. I quickly went through my options. Arsenio was probably the best choice.Damn it.

“I’ll go call him. Do you want another glass?”

She nodded, and I grabbed one for her before going to my office for my phone. As I picked up my phone, I heard Aleida talking to Scout.

“You must have lost a shit ton of blood with how much you’re drinking.”

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.I would not hit her. I would not hit her.
