“A few months. I know, it’s soon to be taking vacations for.”
“Not really.” Luis grinned. “I had a friend over this week. It was like a vacation.”
“Good for you!”
“Thanks. Now, you want to show me all the things that man bought for you?”
The rest of the day was spent showing off my new wardrobe and toiletries. I had lotions, perfumes, shoes, accessories, makeup. Desi had wanted to buy full stores!
“When do you start work again?” Luis asked as he tested out a lotion.
I didn’t really want to go back, but the other option had major drawbacks.
“I haven’t decided yet. Desi doesn’t want me to go back. He wants me to travel with him this summer while he works.”
“And what will you do?”
I squinted. He had a good point. What would I do? I’d never had time to just do… whatever before.
“Maybe I’ll do art.”
“What an image. By the time you come back in the fall, you’ll be barefoot and pregnant.”
“Ha!” I laughed. “Even Desi couldn’t convince me to do that.”
“You’d be surprised at how good a man like he is with his words.” The way he said it made it sound like he knew something I didn’t.
“What does that mean?” I asked.
“It means, have a good trip. I’m going to be very happy in an empty house.”
