“My pleasure.” Before I realize what’s happening, he grips my panties and tears them from my body. “Finally,” he whispers, as if he’s been waiting a lifetime for me to be lying naked in front of him. I guess in a way he has. We both have. We’ve held onto the love we shared all those years ago, and here tonight, it’s stronger than ever before.

Sebastian crawls up on the bed as I move back farther. It’s as if he’s the predator, and I’m the prey. Not that he needs to catch me. I’m all his. When his lips capture mine, I give him everything I’ve got. I open for him as his tongue duels with mine. There has never been a moment in my life where I’ve felt this kind of need to be closer to another person, to feel as though he’s a part of me. Without warning, he pushes into me, and I couldn’t stop the moan that falls from my lips if I tried.

“Welcome home, baby,” he breathes against my lips as he begins to slowly pull out and push back in.

“I thought you said this would be fast?” I goad him.

“You want fast?” he asks, increasing the speed of his hips as he thrusts into me.

“Y-Yes,” I pant, digging my nails into his back.

“Condom,” he murmurs against my lips before he’s pulling all the way out.

“No.” He freezes. “I don’t want anything between us.”

“I’m clean.”

“Me too. It’s been months.”

“Are you on the pill?”

I swallow hard before shaking my head. “No.”

His eyes that were just moments ago blazing with passion soften and fill with love. “You sure about this, Have?”

I nod. “Are you?”

“Yeah,” he murmurs. “Maybe Chloe is going to get her little sister after all.” He smiles down at me, and my heart feels as if it could burst with happiness and love.

This… this is what I’ve been missing. He is who I’ve been missing. He’s all that I need. “Or a little brother,” I say, placing my hand on his cheek. He leans into my touch.

“I say we give her both,” he says, leaning over me, capturing my lips as he pushes his hips forward, and stills. “I love you, Haven. I’ve never stopped loving you.”

There is no more talking as he shows me with his body, and with his lips, how much he loves me. We spend hours wrapped up in one another until we’re both sated and exhaustion sets in.

“I can feel you staring,” I say, burying my face in his neck. I’ve always been able to feel when someone was watching me.

“I’ve been waiting on you to wake up,” he says, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.

“Someone kept me up until the wee hours of the morning.”

His reply is a deep chuckle that rattles his chest as his arms tighten around me. “I have something for you.”

“I need a break,” I say, still exhausted.

I’m greeted with raucous laughter that echoes throughout the room. “No, not that, although when I’m anywhere near you, we’re both ready,” he says. I can hear the humor in his voice, and I can only imagine him wagging his eyebrows at me as he said it.

Pulling back from his chest, I look up at him. “What is it?”

“I came to see you.”

“What? When?”

“In New York. It was after my first year of college. I found out that Juilliard was doing a showcase, and I hopped on a flight. I came to see your first show. I wanted to surprise you.”

“Why didn’t I know this?” I ask, sitting up, making sure to hold the cover over my bare chest.

“I sat in the audience, and I watched you, Have. You’re an incredible dancer. Your talent blows my mind. I bought you flowers and waited for you.”

“I didn’t know.”

He nods. “I saw you with a group of your dance friends, and you were smiling and happy. Your face was lit up, as it should have been. You just gave a stellar performance.”

“Why didn’t you say hello?”

“My palms were sweating, and I felt like I was going to be sick. It had been over a year since I’d laid eyes on you.”

“I don’t understand.”

“You were happy. At least I thought you were happy. I didn’t want to ruin that, so I stepped back. You and your group walked past me without you noticing.”

“Oh my God.” If it were possible to hear my heart breaking, it would be in this moment. I remember that night. I was smiling and laughing, but that was on the outside. On the inside, I was wishing that I could have shared that moment with him. “I wanted you there. I remember thinking that I wanted to share that moment with you.”

“I was there, and you were incredible.”

“A cruel twist of fate,” I mumble.

“Why do you say that?” He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. “Talk to me.”
