Tommy

“What the fuck do you mean you know where she is?” Looking up from the papers on my desk, I scowled at Raze's red face. He was breathing heavily. Like he had run a marathon.

“Briella…”

Just the mention of her name was enough to have me stumbling to my feet. “What about Briella? You were meant to be watching her. She's in the motel room right…”

“No.” He wheezed, shaking his head.

It wasn't like Raze to be out of breath, he was a fit son of a bitch.

“What do you mean, no?” My hands curled around the edge of my desk, cracking the wood as my knuckles turned white. “Where the fuck is she?”

A million possibilities swirled through my brain. I had left Briella alone because that's what she had wanted me to do. But I wasn't planning on leaving her alone for long. She was mine and I had planned on winning her back. When I had placed Raze on guard duty, I hadn't expected him to fail me.

“You lost her?” The wood under my fingers splintered, cutting into my flesh. My brain didn't even register the pain.

“I haven't lost her, Tommy. I know exactly where she is.”

“Where?” Forcing myself to relax, I uncurled my hand. Blood dripped on the carpet, but I didn't care. Raze knowing her whereabouts was good. There was no need for me to panic. It didn't really matter how far Briella went. I would always find her. My link to her was unbreakable. Only another man claiming her would sever it. And I would never allow that to happen.

Briella was mine.

It didn't matter if my club thought I was dumb or if Leviathan himself didn't agree. Briella was all that mattered.

“With Acco.”

Every bad thought I ever had came crashing down around me, threatening to bury me alive. My throat constricted, leaving it impossible to breathe.

I was on him before he could even blink. Even with his heightened senses, he didn't stand a chance. Curling one hand around his throat, I lifted him off his feet and slammed him backwards against the wall. Plaster dust fell like snow over us as I slammed him again and again.

“You let her be taken by Acco? You cowardly, traitorous son of a bitch...”

“I let her be taken, and then I followed.” There wasn't an ounce of fear in his voice, which only made me angrier.

How could he stand there, his feet a good foot from the carpet and be so calm? He should have been cowering. Begging for my forgiveness.

There wouldn't be any of course.

He had let the better half of my soul be taken. Failed me when I had put all my trust in him. He would never get another chance.

Raze was just lucky that I didn't rip his windpipe from his throat and shower in his blood right there and then. He deserved nothing less.

Betrayal was something I had lived my life expecting, but not from him. I had never expected it from him.

My fingers tightened, and Raze's eyes bulged.

“Yellow roses.” His voice was strangled, but those two words were enough to make me loosen my grip.

“What?”

“He sent her yellow roses. They arrived as I was leaving.” His toes touched the floor. “She thought they were from you, but I knew...I knew who they were from.”

“Why would I send her yellow roses? Aren't they meant to symbolise friendship?” Stepping away, I ran a hand over my head.

“To humans, yes, to the fae they mean marriage. A joining of souls. He wants her Tommy. He never had any intention of giving her up. He was playing with you. He knows you are more powerful than him. This way he regains that power. He cripples you by taking her. By having her go to him voluntarily.”

“Why would she do that?” I frowned. I knew why. The children. “The kids.”
