Henry wasn’t normally one to hold hands, at least he didn’t think he was. None of the men he’d ever been with had initiated it, so neither had he. Dom’s hand was big and rough, but comforting at the same time. Henry liked it and was then a little disappointed when Dom let go of him to start one of the showers.

He pointed to the wall and grinned. “It’s got lots of different settings. Give them all a go.”

Henry studied the instructions and went for one that sounded interesting. “Fuck me!” He hissed and jumped sideways as water thundered down on his shoulders and back like a thousand tiny fists pummelling his skin.

Dom’s laughter echoed around them, and Henry glared as he hurriedly changed options on his shower to something a little less intense. “You could’ve warned me,” he muttered before tipping his head back and letting the cool water wash the sweat from his face and hair.

“I could’ve. But where’s the fun in that?”

Henry ignored him in favour of playing with a few more settings, none of them thankfully as bad as the first. Closing his eyes, he enjoyed the feel of the spray on his skin, wondering how he’d ended up here exactly.

Showering with a stranger.

Not that Dom felt like a stranger. He’d meant what he’d said outside, talking to Dom was easy. Henry had told him things he’d struggled to tell even his best friends.

“Hey.”

Henry opened his eyes to see Dom staring at him, drops of water clinging to his lashes. He’d let his shower turn off, and Henry took a moment to appreciate the sight of a wet Dom. His blond hair, turned dark by the water, clung to his forehead, and Henry raised his hand to push it back a little when Dom’s voice startled him.

“Want to try out the pool?”

Henry snatched his hand back and rubbed his neck, pretending like he hadn’t been about to touch Dom at all. Nope. “Pool?” he managed, a husky edge to his voice that he wanted to roll his eyes at.

Seriously, Henry? It’s not like you’ve never seen a hot man before.

Dom studied him, amusement in his eyes, but he didn’t call Henry out on his ogling. “There’s a pool through there.” He gestured behind them through a set of double doors. “Half inside, half out.” He smiled, eyes crinkling at the corners. “Shall we?”

Henry’s breath caught, those pesky flutters in his stomach reminding him what it was like to experience the first heady moments of attraction. “Yeah, okay.” He smiled, Kyle fast becoming a distant memory while Dom stood in front of him looking like that.

The area around the small pool was virtually empty, only a lone woman relaxing on one of the sun loungers. She paid them no attention, far too busy doing a crossword.

Dom lowered himself to sit on the pool edge, stomach muscles bunching and releasing as he eased into the water. Henry licked his lips, eyes tracking the water droplets running over Dom’s broad, inked shoulders as he leant his arms on the side and grinned. “Come on in.”

That smile did funny things to Henry’s insides, and he quickly slipped into the water before it did things to other parts of him too. Cooler than he was expecting, he gasped and turned to glare at Dom. “It’s cold.” At least he didn’t have to worry about embarrassing semis.

Dom rolled his eyes, but his smile remained. “It’s not cold. The surrounding air is warm, that’s all. Besides, it’s supposed to be refreshing.”

Henry huffed.

Refreshing.

Fucking freezing, more like.

Henry floated onto his back and tried to get used to the cool temperature.I guess it’s not so bad.

Dom copied him, his hand brushing Henry’s as he floated alongside him.

Not bad at all.

When he’d arrived a couple of hours ago, wary and disoriented, this was not how he’d expected his afternoon to go. His mind wandered to what might happen after they left the sauna, but he quickly stopped that train of thought.

Dom probably had plans.

Plans that didn’t include Henry.

Shaking off the flare of disappointment that caused, Henry straightened in the water and turned to look where the thick plastic curtains led to the outside part of the pool. “Let’s go outside.” He glanced over his shoulder to find Dom watching him, and his smile was automatic. Something about Dom made him smile more today than he had in the last few weeks.

Feeling an usual mixture of giddy and unsettled, Henry decided it would be a good idea to make a race out of it and started swimming as if his life depended on it.
