Her breathing stops and I watch the smallest hint of a smile threaten the corner of her mouth. Adriana needs aftercare, and while I’m not always in the mood, tonight is different.

Tonight, she’s earned it.

And it’ll make her less hesitant next time.

“Can I stroke you?” I whisper, gliding my fingertips over her silky-smooth skin. “Let me take care of you. Just tell me what feels good, baby. I’ll give you anything you want.”

She hums and settles, processing what’s just happened to her. The warmth of her climax merges with the heat of my body, and her muscles relax as I massage her to sleep.

I’m content to let her rest—for now.

I close my eyes, revisiting the sight of my blood-streaked cock thrusting into her, and debating how many hours of rest I should give her before I fuck her again.

THE DEMON YOU KNOW

ADRIANA

Asmall burst of pain catches my attention, rousing me from my sleep. The sting spreads over my shoulder and then it settles as someone licks it better. He's kissing my back, following the curve of my body toward my neck.

I shrug, trying to shake him off.

Enzo laughs against my skin and I don't enjoy the wicked sound. It's laced with threat and it's put me on edge in seconds.

“Are you sore, baby?”

I roll over and pour every ounce of venom I possess into my glare. He doesn't flinch and maybe his eyes are just as blind as mine are in the dark.

“What the fuck do you think?”

“Let's make you feel better,” he breathes against me, tracing the edge of my body with his fingertip.

“We're done,” I say, spitting my words at him as I push away. I sit on the edge of the bed, holding myself as I try to ignore the ache between my legs.

He turns a dim light on and I don't turn around, ignoring the fuck out of him as he moves around the bed.

I'd get up, but I'm not sure my legs will hold me and I don't want the embarrassment that will follow.

Or him to pick me up.

Or realize how pathetically weak I am.

“We're done when I say we're done,” Enzo says, utterly calm.

“The deal's complete. I got what I wanted. You sure as fuck got what you wanted. It's over.”

For a second time, his low chuckle sends a shiver down my spine.

The mattress shifts as he gets up, walking effortlessly around the bed. By the time I lift my head, he's standing in front of me, blocking my way.

“Do you need a hand?”

The arch of his eyebrow tells me he's amused. The glare I send him tells him I'm not.

“I don't need anything from you.”

Enzo waits, crossing his arms as he stares down at me. He easily intimidates me and I stare at the floor, hoping he'll give up and leave me alone.
