She lets out a soft sigh. And perhaps it’s my skewed perception, but it seems as though she moved a tiny bit closer?
I do the same, holding my breath for what’s to come.
Should I be brave and just… do it?
What if this isn’t what she wants?
What if she gets mad at me and tells me to sleep on the floor?
More thoughts rush through my mind as I picture all types of scenarios. In the end, my desire for her wins over my caution.
I guess I’ll sleep on the floor if she asks me to.
Leaning in, I wet my lips slightly.
I hope she won’t mind how dry they are.
She closes her eyes, tips her head backward a little and pouts her lips.
This is it! The moment I’ve been waiting for.
My chest is about to explode. My nether region is already under a flurry of activity, overstimulated by my imagination.
By the Seven! I hope there won’t be any accident when Iactuallykiss her.
Bit by bit, the distance between us becomes nonexistent. My eyes snap shut too, my lips ready to meet hers.
Warmth spreads through my body. It feels as though the blood in my veins is on fire. Ah, sweet, sweet kiss, and my even sweeter Moe.
“Nyk?” Moe asks, suddenly getting to her feet. “Nyk, where are you?”
“What are you talking about?” I ask with a frown.
When did the kiss stop? Wait, it didn’t even start, did it? Then why do I feel so warm and restless and?—
“This isn’t funny, Nyk. I can’t see you.”
“What are you talking about? I’m right in front of you!”
“No. You’re not.”
“Yes. I am,” I protest.
She turns around, her brows knit together in confusion. She looks everywhere. “Keep talking.”
“You’re joking with me, no?” I ask now.
“Let’s say I am. Keep talking.”
“What should I say? That I was expecting this to go a little different?” I ask, a little frustrated, both at myself and at the situation. Perhaps I let my imagination gotoofar and I read into our interaction more than I should have.
Hands on her hips, Moe stands in front of me, her head moving from side to side. She makes a tsk sound and then laughs softly.
“Nyk,” she starts. “Say something.”
“What?”
She looks down, at me. Wait… Down?
