He nodded his chin toward the women andpitched his voice low as he asked, “How are they this morning?”

Dante glanced over at them. “Full-on planningmode.”

Kyle suppressed a groan. Cassidy was planningfor their wedding next June. He never expected his sister to get socrazy about such a human tradition, but she’d become obsessed withdresses, flowers, and such ridiculous things astablesettings.

He once made the mistake of telling her paperplates and plastic silverware were perfectly fine table settings. He could still feel her withering stare.

Refusing to be a coward, he didn’t run, buthe’d spent the next week checking for rats in his room beforecrawling into bed. After the last prank she pulled on him, whereshe released a bunch of the rodents into his room, he installed achain lock to the inside of his door and made sure to put it inplace before he went to sleep at night.

At Cassidy’s orders, their older sisters,Willow and Vicky, were coming by once a week to help with theplanning. Willow was less than thrilled about it, but Vicky was inall her glory as fashion was one of her favorite things.

With a sigh, Kyle realized he had to entertheir territory. He couldnotbe hungry around Melanie. Shewas already far too tempting without adding that to the mix.

He shot Dante a look. “This isyourfault.”

Dante sheepishly ducked his head; Julian andDeclan stopped playing to stare at him.

“I didn’t know she’d go so crazy,” Dantemuttered.

“Next time, you’ll know better,” Kylesaid.

“There better not be a next time,” Julianhissed. “Nomore big events for you two, ever. Noanniversary parties, no baby showers, and for the love of God,don’teverallow a gender reveal party to happen.”

Dante chuckled, but when no one else laughed, his amusement vanished. “None,” he promised.

“And don’t forget it,” Kyle said.

Gathering his courage, Kyle threw back hisshoulders and assumed an air of nonchalance as he strode toward thekitchen with far more confidence than he felt.

“I swear, if you put me in pink, I’ll stabyou,” Willow stated when he was only a few feet away.

So, everything is still going great. Some of Kyle’s confidence evaporated, and he wished he could blendin with the floor as he tried to slip past his sisters withoutbeing seen. But considering he wasn’t Casper, that wasimpossible.

“It’s notpink; it’scoral,”Cassidy said.

Kyle pondered the difference between coraland pink.

Apparently, it was pretty small, as Willowretorted. “Coral is a fancy name forpink.”

“With your coloring, it will look fantasticon you,” Vicky said.

Willow gave her a look that would haveterrified a T. rex; Vicky smiled sweetly in return.

“I. Don’t. Like. Pink,” Willow bit out.

“Well, it’s a good thing this isn’t aboutwhatyoulike. It’s about whatIlike,” Cassidyretorted. “And I like coral.”

A muscle twitched in Willow’s jaw as shestared at Cassidy, but she didn’t protest any further. Declanwatched the exchange with amusement. That look would get him introuble if Willow turned around.

“What about the color blush?” Aidasuggested.

“It’s still pink,” Willow said. “How manynames for pink are there?”

Vicky laughed as Kyle opened the fridge door.He would get a bag of blood and get away before they noticed him.His hand closed on a blood bag when Cassidy dashed his hopes.

“Kyle, what do you think, blush or coral?”Cassidy asked.

She knew he had no opinion on any of thiscolor-scheme crap or wedding planning. She’d asked to irritate him,so he plastered on a smile as he turned to face them.
