The only problem was that Adrian didn’t feel satisfied. He was mid-fucking-tantrum. It wasn’t enough to throw things. He needed them to break as well.
With a growl, he grabbed the newspaper resting on the edge of the bed and tossed it, sending the black-and-white pages fluttering all about the room. That wasn’t enough. Not by a long shot. He swung around, eyes scouring the area for something else to destroy. It wasn’t a bad motel. They’d stayed in much worse while in Damardor.
“My Adrian, talk to me. Tell me what is bothering you,” the dragon coaxed.
“What’s bothering me? We’ve wasted so much time here in Voxmore. It took us three days to get all those people back fromThe Pit and to question them about Shey. And what did we discover? Nada. Zip. Zilch. Not a goddamn thing related to Shey. We don’t even know if he’s still fucking alive after all this time,” Adrian ranted, continuing to pace the room like a caged tiger.
“But it hasn’t been a waste. We set all those people free. Innocent people who were destined to die in that horrible place. Their families would never have known the truth about what happened to them.”
“Great! Fabulous!” Adrian threw his arms into the air with each sharp word he spoke. He spun to Haru and glared. “But what about Shey? He’s the entire reason we’re here. You know, to stop a war or at least stop a nice guy from getting himself killed.”
“We will find him,” Haru stated with supreme confidence.
Adrian snarled and returned to pacing. “Cael sent the wrong person. I’m a fucking idiot. I have no idea what I’m doing. We?—”
He didn’t have a chance to finish his rant. A powerful hand gripped his shoulder and spun him around. A breath later, his back slammed into the wall, and Haru mercilessly covered his mouth with his own in a kiss that melted every damn thought Adrian had in his head. He was operating on instinct, and those instincts were screamingwant.
Adrian gripped a handful of Haru’s long black hair and wrapped his fist in it, moaning into his mouth.Fuck, yes. His hair was as silky as he’d imagined it would be.
Every time his brain tried to reboot, something else would tick a box of desire, throwing the breakers once again.
Haru’s kiss was all power and finesse, dominating Adrian’s mouth in all the best ways. His tongue slid inside, caressing and learning Adrian’s mouth, only to withdraw. Teeth nibbled and tugged, promising the wicked combination of pleasure and pain.
It wasn’t fair. Adrian had dreamed of this moment for months. Hell, it could have been years by now. He’d wanted tokiss and fuck Haru pretty much from their first meeting. He was a contradiction Adrian was dying to understand. His human form was delicate elegance and grace, while his dragon was all power and bone-crushing dominance. Somehow, both existed in the same creature.
Then there was his stupid smile, and voice, and sweet words driving Adrian to distraction, or just the urge to kill anyone who so much as looked at Haru. Everything about Haru seemed to trigger dark instincts that made him want to possess and be possessed by this powerful creature. It defied all logic, but now that Haru was finally kissing him, Adrian couldn’t bring himself to give a single flying fuck about logic.
The kisses stretched on, and Adrian’s lips grew tender. It wasn’t until Haru got a hand under his shirt and warm fingers skimmed across his stomach that his brain overpowered all his body’s demands.
Adrian tipped his face up, tearing his mouth free from Haru, only to have the damn dragon press hot liquid kisses along his throat. No cold shower in the world was going to save him or his blue balls after this.
“Haru, wait,” Adrian moaned. “Please. We…we can’t…” His plea dissolved into a lurid groan as the dragon sucked Adrian’s earlobe into his mouth and nibbled on it.What the fuck was he saying?
“Of course we can. You’re almost ready now.” As he spoke, Haru moved the hand on Adrian’s stomach lower to cup his hard cock and aching balls. He fondled him through his pants while grinding his hardening dick into Adrian’s hip.
Adrian grabbed his wrist, halting the movement of his hand. “It’s not right,” he gritted out between clenched teeth. “I don’t feel about you the same way you feel about me. I don’t want to create expectations or…” Adrian’s words sputtered out. He had a good reason for stopping him, but the combination of Haru’samazing mouth and the fiery touch of his hand was ravaging what little resolve he had left. Deep down, he wanted to be a good, noble person, but it wasn’t nearly as strong as his desire to get fucked hard into next week.
A low chuckle rumbled up Haru’s throat, destroying an entire field of Adrian’s healthy brain cells like acid thrown on daisies. “I’m hundreds of years old, my Adrian. Do you think I can’t recognize when a person doesn’t love me? This isn’t about love. It’s about giving you the release you need so we can continue our search.”
That sounded logical.
Why did that sound so logical?
Because his brain was deprived of both blood and oxygen at this point, and anything that got him laid was going to sound like fucking rocket science.
“You’re sure?” Adrian demanded in a last-ditch effort to be a decent human being, even while turning his mouth toward Haru’s.
“Yes, and if I just so happen to prove to you that I am superior to every other lover you’ve ever had, we’ll take that as a bonus,” Haru boasted, but that last part went right over Adrian’s overtaxed brain.
“Fine. Show me what you can do, dragon,” Adrian challenged. Amusement flared in his chest as Haru’s eyes widened with surprise. Adrian was never one to retreat from a fight.
Haru seized his mouth in another blistering kiss. The cool scrape of sharp talons replaced gentle, warm fingers, sending uncontrollable shivers throughout Adrian’s body. In a flash, his clothes were torn to shreds, and he was left naked in front of the fully dressed, sexy man.
“No fair.”
“I think I have earned the right to gaze at your beauty.” His talons gone, Haru dragged both hands along Adrian’s chest. Soft fingers traced hard muscles and faded scars.
“Between the two of us, only you fit the definition of beauty.”
