Myrtle asked at one point, “How are you adapting to life with three elves?”

“Life with them is fine, and we are slowly drawing closer and closer.”

Echel chuckled from behind his laptop.

“What did you put in the mural?”

“Did you want to see it on your own, or did you want to wait for your guys to be home?”

Myrtle grimaced.“I am not much into deferred gratification.”

Byron grinned.“I have called everybody home.Denith is taking a break and bringing dessert.”

Em nibbled her last fancy sandwich.“You are calling them home for a picture?”

Echel explained.“If she is as enthusiastic as they think she will be, there will be some overflow, and at that point, we will head home.”

“Oh.You mean...right.”Emhara nodded.

Myrtle blushed.“I don’t do that sort of thing in public.Well, occasionally Denith and I make the point that some of the new servers aren’t aware of.Mind you, now I can’t squish to human, so once they have seen me, it’s hands off.”

“Right.Well, my sister’s pack used to make me watch, and they were watching for signs of arousal, so watching does not do it for me.”

Myrtle blinked.“Why?”

“They wanted another outlet, but if I didn’t cooperate, it would be impossible to hide or explain away.”

Echel was looking at her, horrified.“So, you don’t show signs...”

“Because signs meant horror. So, I am slowly loosening my control, day by day.I am also close to unlocking the other thing, so next week ought to be very distracting.”She sipped at her tea.

Myrtle blinked.“So, you have been on lockdown?”

“Yup.”

Echel asked, “Why didn’t you tell us?”

“You never asked. It has been really sweet, and I am just waiting for the other thing to happen.”

Echel sat back, stunned, and then he picked up his phone and started typing.

“You guys were right.I needed time to feel safe. When I come to you, I will be whole, and you will have to deal with that.”

Echel looked at her with a slow smile.“That sounds like a threat.”

She held up her fingers and blew a stream of air across them.A crackle of energy across the visual spectrum moved from one digit to the next.

The door opened, and Teyval and Toros came in.Denith was a moment behind them.

Em grinned.“I am getting out of here. It’s about to get sticky.”

Byron snorted.

Echel grabbed Em’s bags and nodded.“Let’s go.”

She nodded, hugged Myrtle, and patted her head.“Enjoy the baby room.”

Emhara grinned and got out of the house with her delta.
