A man who looked oddly familiar.

He glanced at her before doing a double-take.

“Do we know each other?” he asked.

Lily shook her head, feeling her cheeks beginning to warm. She almost thought he had followed her there, but that idea was ludicrous. The man didn’t know her, and they only briefly saw each other through a window.

Speaking of…

Her eyes dipped. She could almost see his rock hard abs through the thin T-shirt he wore.

“Don’t think so.”

The bartender approached the two men and greeted them.

“Ethan, Jackson, it’s so good to see you. What can I get going for you? Your usual?”

They each nodded yes, which Lily quickly realized was a beer on tap. She picked up her phone and tried to make herself look busy to avoid any conversations with him.

She pulled up Facebook and immediately regretted it. As if Stacy was right beside her, a text came through.

Stacy: Don’t check Facebook.

Then Lily’s phone immediately lit up with an incoming call.

Lily answered. “Too late.”

“Shit. Are you okay?”

Lily picked up her glass and downed her drink before motioning to the bartender for another.

“I’ll live.”

Not only had Scott broken up with her only twenty-four hours prior, but he also marked himself as being in a relationship with a girl named Mindy—someone Lily knew to be Scott’s “friend” from work. Or so he always said.

“Should I fly out? We can make a girl’s trip out of this.”

Lily downed half of the next drink that was set in front of her before responding.

“No, don’t come. I’ll be fine.”

“You know what you need? You need to go fuck some random guy.”

Lily rolled her eyes. “I’m pretty sure the last thing I need is sex.”

The man beside her, Ethan or Jackson, shifted. She glanced at him and her face flamed. He heard every word.

“Yep. You need a good dicking,” Stacy said at the exact moment the entire bar seemed to get quiet.

A look of amusement crossed his face before he could conceal it.

Lily glowered and shot him a look. She didn’t lower her voice as she replied, “Stace, I need to let you go. I’m at a bar, and I’m fairly certain the man beside me can hear everything you’re saying.”

“Oh, is he hot? Can he do the dicking?”

Ethan or Jackson smiled brightly this time.

“Bye, Stacy.”
