“Yes, please,” she whispered.
She handed him the sunscreen, and he put some in his hand before resting his other hand on her hip.
Electricity shot through her body, and she shivered against his touch. A small smile lifted his lips. “Are you going to turn around and let me do your back, or were you wanting help elsewhere?”
Her eyes widened, and she spun around. He chuckled lightly as he rubbed the sunscreen over her back. Each time he lifted a strap of her bikini to put sunscreen beneath it, she nearlygroaned. His touch was electric, and she wanted to lean back and have him rub her in other places.
Naked.
She swallowed hard and ignored the heat building in her body. She needed to keep it together.
“Done,” he said. “Mind doing mine?”
She turned back toward him and shook her head. He peeled his shirt off, displaying the most perfect set of abs she had ever seen. Her view in the hot tub was brief when they stepped out. But with the sun shining, and him standing so close now… Good Lord. There was nothing like seeing it this close in person.
He turned around, and she squirted the sunscreen in her hand, working it over his back. His muscles were hard beneath her touch, and she didn’t want to stop. She wanted to rub her hands all over him.
“Done,” she whispered.
He turned to face her and tipped his head toward the road. “Ready?”
She nodded. He tugged his shirt back over his head, and she did the same with her dress. Then they each grabbed a towel and walked down the road past a few more campsites on their way to the trail that led to the pond. The path was easy to navigate as it was well worn, with no other paths leading off it.
“In the winter, the pond freezes over and we turn it into a skate rink. There’s a booth to rent skates and a place to buy hot chocolate. It’s a big hit.”
“It sounds fun.”
“It is. I drive the resort guests over here and basically caravan each day, all day.”
She couldn’t imagine having to socialize that much, but that was part of the reason she was a writer. Her introverted nature would make it hard to be a guide of anything. Even being a panelist at a book event was draining.
“Do you enjoy having to make conversation all day?”
“I do. I thrive on people.”
“Sounds exhausting.”
He laughed. “Maybe for some, but not for me.”
They stepped out into a clearing to a large pond. Lily looked around. It was beautiful. The water was surprisingly clear and glinted against the setting sun. Several people were in the water and several more were on the outside, packing up their items to leave. It was the place to be on this hot Tuesday evening.
Ethan led them over to a sandy area, where they kicked off their shoes and laid their towels down. Then Lily watched as Ethan used one hand to pull his shirt off.
Damn. He is divine.
He discarded his shirt and looked over at her, catching her staring. “Are you going to take that dress off or am I just going to toss you in fully clothed?”
Her eyes widened. “You better not toss me in, Ethan Blake.”
His eyebrows raised. “You full named me.”
“Yes, I did.”
“Are you sure that was wise?”
He took a step toward her, and her eyes widened as she took a step back. “Yes.”
He took another step toward her. “Really? You’re sure?”
