Jeff stared at Noah. If there was one thing he knew, women stuck together. He had learned that from his sisters. Growing up as the only boy with three older sisters, he learned a lot about women. Including how much they tell each other.

“You grew up in a house of brothers. I grew up in a house of sisters. Trust me when I say that chicks before dicks is an accurate statement.”

Noah chuckled. “Would it be so bad if Megan found out?”

Jeff considered it as the gondola arrived at the top and they got off. They went into the employee locker room and got their snow gear on to prepare for the skiers who would arrive shortly. First, they needed to make their rounds through the runs to clear them all for opening and check for any danger of avalanches.

He supposed Megan finding out wouldn’t be that big of a deal. By the time lunch had rolled around, Jeff had made a decision. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and typed out a quick message.

Jeff: How is your day going?

Her response was almost immediate.

Megan: Going well. How’s yours?

Jeff took a photo of the view from the top of the mountain and sent it to Megan. The resort and the town of Wintervale could be seen in the distance. A thick blanket of snow covered everything, and it looked picturesque with curly plumes of smoke coming out of fireplaces scattered across town.

Jeff: Living the dream.

Megan: Stunning! It’s certainly a dream worth living.
