“Is... is it over?” she whispers, her voice small and scared.

I kiss her forehead. “No,chérie. This is just the beginning.”

She lets out a soft, broken laugh. “I can’t... I can’t do it again. Not right now.”

“You don’t have to,” I soothe. “Rest. We’ll be right here.”

And we are. The three of us, a tangled heap on the rug in the middle of our warehouse. The fire isn’t even lit, but I’ve never felt warmer.

I bury my face in her neck, inhaling her scent. The fever has broken for now, replaced by a warm, sated glow.

“Sleep,chérie,” I whisper. “We’re not done. We’re just getting started.”

The heat is going to last at least three days.

And we’re going to be here for every second of it.

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

Eli

The warehouse smells of sex, sweat, and sweet, slick musk. It clings to the walls, the rugs, the very fabric of our clothes. It’s a scent so thick I feel like I’m breathing underwater.

I sit on the floor behind Amber, her back pressed tight against my chest, my legs bracketing hers. Knox is locked inside her.

His head is buried in her neck, his breathing ragged and harsh. His knot is fully tied, a thick swell at the base of his cock that keeps them irrevocably joined.

He’s been like this for nearly twenty minutes, pumping her full of his seed while she shakes and sobs in my arms.

“Ça va aller, ma chère,” Knox rasps against her skin, his voice wrecked. “It will be okay. Just breathe.”

“Eli,” she whimpers, her head lolling back against my shoulder. Her eyes are glazed over, the pupils blown so wide the iris is just a thin ring of chocolate.

She’s not here with us entirely; she’s flying high on the hormones, lost in a biological haze that terrifies me as much as it arouses me.

“I’m here,” I whisper, pressing a kiss to her sweaty temple. I brush the damp hair away from her face. “I’ve got you. You’re doing so well.”

“She’s burning up,” Fallon says from where he kneels beside us. He has a bowl of cool water and a washcloth.

He’s been the grounding force, the one who brings her back when she gets too hot. He gently wipes her face, the cold water making her gasp.

“Cold,” she shivers.

“I know, Sunshine,” Fallon murmurs, his eyes dark with an intense mixture of lust and tenderness. “Just cooling you down.”

We stay like this until Knox’s knot goes down. When he finally pulls out, the sound is wet and obscene.

A rush of fluid follows, coating her thighs and the rug beneath us. She whines at the loss, a hollow sound that makes my chest ache.

“Shh,” I soothe, wrapping my arms tighter around her waist. “You’re okay. We’re right here.”

Knox shifts back, looking wrecked. His chest is heaving, his eyes wild. He looks at the mess between her legs, at the mark of his possession.

“She needs more,” Knox growls, his Alpha instinct refusing to let her rest even though she’s exhausted. “She’s still in pain. The cramps will come back.”

“Let her breathe for a minute,” I say, though my own cock is throbbing in my pants, demanding its turn. The scent of her heat is a drug, overriding all logic.

“No,” Amber whines, twisting in my lap. She reaches back, her nails digging into my thighs. “No... Eli. Please. I need... I need you.”
