“You—” She set her mug down and interlaced her fingers. “You want me to use your shifters as booty calls?”

Rowan snorted. “Obviously you haven't been in close quarters with shifters very much. We possess strong biological drives.”

Moira's lips twitched.

“You could have a line out your door, and few of them would blink.”

I gasped. “That cannot be true.”

Rowan spread his hands out. “I'm afraid it is. The only exception would be if one of them felt the mating tug. In that case, the others would back off as soon as they sense the same.”

“I'm a vampire. We don't mate.”

Rowan watched her. “You aren't just a vampire, and we all know it. Everyone at the Keep knows you're something more. So don't rule a bond out yet.”

Moira's eyes flickered, and I knew Ethan had crossed her mind. The other Shifter Lord spent some time in Rowan's territory not too long ago, and Moira caught feelings, something I never thought I'd see happen.

Ethan was a difficult Lord to read, keeping me firmly on the fence about him as a partner for her. I didn't dislike him as much as I used to, but he wouldn't be the first person I'd choose. Not that such a decision was up to me. Moira deserved happiness, and if Ethan could give that to her, I'd support their courtship all the way to the altar.

But if she could find a mate…

Rowan's hand tightened around my thigh. He was thinking the same thing. Ethan was handsome and powerful, and Moira was cunning and gorgeous. On paper, they worked.

Real life was rarely as cut and dry.

“A mate,” Moira mused. “I think the idea is far-fetched, but I'll keep an open mind.”

The server came with our coffees and disappeared just as quickly when he saw the look on Moira's face.

“Until then, I'll keep your suggestion in mind.” Her brow furrowed. “If such a thing wouldn't cause issues, why haven't any of your shifters knocked on my door?”

Rowan sipped his coffee. “They're being respectful of Evie for now, but it's more than just that. You don't give off welcoming vibes, Moira.”

Ash turned his laugh into a cough and turned his face away.

Moira's eyes narrowed. “Should I hang up my shingle and install a light that goes red or green depending on my mood?”

Rowan shrugged. “Men, no matter what species, are generally clueless. If you'd rather handle it like a business than a mutual arrangement, more power to you.”

Moira's mouth fell open. “You cannot be for real.” She let out a little snort and sat back in her chair, staring at my husband.

Rowan grinned, his eyes warming as he watched my friend. “Your under the sheets activities are none of my business. I'm only telling you shifters are generally up for some tether free extracurriculars if you are.”

“And if I like tethers?”

“Moira.” I rolled my eyes.

“You do you,” Rowan said mildly. “Perhaps I should have said no strings attached extracurriculars.”

Moira grunted. “I'll think about it.”

From the glimmer of her eyes, I knew she would.
