They texted throughout the train ride, and then the cab ride from the station to Ejiro’s house.
He got home feeling like he was walking on air, and headed straight for the sitting room, knowing Ajiri and Blessing would probably still be awake even though it was past midnight.
“Ejiro!” Ajiri called, proving him right, before he’d even entered the room. “How was your date?” He knew his twin was leering without having to see her face.
“It was fine,” he said as he entered the room, trying to look and sound casual as he flopped into the armchair.
Blessing squealed when she noticed what he held in his hands. “Aw, he got you flowers? And they’re real! That’s so cute!”
Ejiro blushed furiously, but he was so, so happy. The flowers were probably going to die in like a week because he didn’t know squat about taking care of plants, but as Ejiro had said to Obiora earlier, it was the thought that counted.
“Oh?” Ajiri looked impressed. “That’s given him some extra brownie points, I’ll give him that.”
Ejiro laughed. “I’m going to bed.” He stood and stretched. “I just wanted you both to know that I had a great time.”
“Going to bed, huh,” Blessing said, raising an eyebrow.
“Is that what the kids are calling midnight calls these days?” Ajiri waggled her eyebrows.
“Leave me alone,” Ejiro complained, but he couldn’t stop grinning. “Goodnight!” he called as he left the sitting room.
“Goodnight!” the women echoed.
“I’m glad you had a great time,” Ajiri said, twisting around on the sofa to meet his eyes, her own earnest. Sometimes, it felt like Ajiri’s happiness at Ejiro’s happiness was even more than his own.
Ejiro turned bashful. “Thank you.”
He entered his room and began to prepare for bed.
He’d changed into his pyjamas and had just finished brushing his teeth when Obiora finally called. Seeing his name light up the screen of his phone set Ejiro’s heart alight.
“Hey baby,” Ejiro said into the phone, feeling shy as he did. He’d never been one for cliché pet names, but there was just something about how Obiora made him feel that brought the desire out in him.
“Hey,” Obiora replied, a grin in his voice. “Got home okay?” he asked, even though they’d texted throughout and he knew Ejiro had gotten home okay.
Ejiro loved that he still asked anyway. “Yup. I’m getting in bed now.”
“Good, good. Today was awesome, huh?”
“How do you manage to sound both dreamy and cocky at the same time?”
Obiora laughed. “I don’t know, babe. It’s a skill.”
Ejiro laughed. Tomorrow was Sunday and they were both off from work, which meant they could talk for as long as they wanted to.
Ejiro tried to keep his voice and his laughter quiet. He didn’t know how two hours passed, just like that.
The house was quiet. Obiora’s voice had gone low, gravelly as it always did when he was feeling sleepy. Ejiro had always found it intensely sexy, but he’d ignored the way it made his stomach swoop.
Until tonight.
“Baby,” Obiora whispered, words all grit.
“God, you sound so sexy right now,” Ejiro confessed in a rush, pulse racing.
There was a slight pause. “Yeah?”
Oh God. Ejiro’s dick twitched, then began to thicken. “Yeah,” he said, swallowing when his voice came out a tad rougher, thick with desire. “You know I’ve never—no one’s ever—” He swallowed again. Lowered his voice. “I’ve never gotten a blowjob before,” he confessed.
