“You still keep that strap in your purse?” he asked me while I moisturized my body.

“Not recently. I’ve been wearing my mini Kelly, and it’s too small for me to fit a gun in there.”

He smacked his lips while shaking his head. “The shit you worry about really blows me. Wear a bigger bag. I need you strapped.”

“I must’ve got brought up in your back-and-forth with Silas’ bitch ass.”

Any nigga who beefed with my husband beefed with me. I wasn’t fond of Silas at all. He lacked respect and basic ethics of the game. Sending niggas to shoot up a funeral full of innocent people, especially children, was a death wish in my book. I was praying that Ahk would deliver on that wish soon. Silas was a waste of fucking space, and he contributed nothing to this world besides dark-ass, hating-ass energy.

Ahkeem nodded as he tossed on a crisp white tee. “Too fucking much. Them niggas watching bad and feel as though they can mention you since they know it’s the quickest way to geta reaction out of me. I’ll slice a nigga ear to ear when it comes to my wife.”

I shuffled over to him with my body butter in hand. I handed it over to him, and he did the honors of moisturizing my back.

“That’s how you know their trap ain’t moving like it’s supposed to if they’re so worried about me and what I have going on.”

“Facts. Just keep your strap on you.”

I took heed to what he was telling me and made sure I switched bags so I could carry my gun.

I knew I had a ton of ripping and running around to do, so I threw on a black and white Alo set with my Chanel trainers. I slicked my hair back into a bun before sliding some designer shades onto my face. I wasn’t too big on wearing makeup as of lately, so I went without and just put some lip gloss on.

Taylor decided to stay in the city until the white party since she missed it last year and refused to miss it again. She was gonna be with me all day putting things together. If my girl hadn’t turned over a new leaf, I would’ve had her dancing and bringing in all the ballers who missed her and her curves.

By the time I wrapped up getting ready, Ahk was helping Blue get dressed for school. We pulled him for a few days, and after a long talk about how he felt, we opted to let him close out the week. He was only with us for a few more days before we had to swap with Brooke. We allowed him to call his mother daily, and she seemed calm from the bits and pieces I was able to overhear, but with her, you never really knew what to expect.

“You need me to drop him off?” I asked while dropping a kiss onto Blue’s head.

“Nah, I got it. I don’t know how many more times I’ll be able to do so once my baby mama ruins my damn life.”

I side eyed him since we just had a conversation about the way he spoke of Brooke in front of Saphir. I didn’t want himcarrying that energy back to her. He mouthed an apology before looking down at Saphir.

“I ain’t mean that, Blue.”

“Sure, you didn’t,” Blue said, prompting us both to bust out laughing.

I squatted down and opened my arms for him to fall into an embrace. “Have a good day at school. Remember what we talked about last night.”

He kissed my cheek before nodding. “I’m safe, and if I don’t feel safe, tell Ms. Dean to call you, Mommy, or Daddy.”

“Exactly. I love you, Blue.”

“Love you too, Jazzy.” He squeezed me tighter. And to think, when I found out about Ahkeem having a son, I was considering running for the hills. Saphir was everything to me, and I just wanted to add to his life as much as I could.

“And you stay out of trouble, jail bird.” I leaned up and kissed Ahkeem’s lips.

“A nigga got a couple mugshots, and all of a sudden, I’m a jailbird?”

“If you keep adding to them, then yes, you are.”

“Behind you and Blue, I’ll smile in my mugshot. You know this.” He pecked my lips a few times before Blue playfully gagged, letting us know he had enough of our PDA.

Ahk nudged him lightly. “When you get you a little girlfriend, I’m gone playa hate just like you.”

“I already got me a girlfriend.” Blue puffed out his chest proudly.

I damn near had a heart attack. Clutching my chest, I gasped. “Boy, you’re five! What you need a girlfriend for?!”

Ahk’s ass thought it was so funny and almost had tears coming out of his eyes. “My boy a mack just like his pops.” He dapped him up.
