“Lovey, do what the fuck I taught you.”

My baby ain’t hesitate. She dove her head back with all her might, slamming her skull right into Giselle’s face. The impact ofthe blow caused Giselle to stumble and lose control of the gun. She let out a frantic cry full of agony before squeezing the trigger and sending bullets into the wall instead of Jazzlyn’s head.

Jazzlyn hit the floor just as I made it down the rest of the stairs firing my gun. My bullets pierced Giselle’s collar bone and shoulder, sending her spinning and knocking the gun out of her hand. Priest followed up right behind me, squeezing his trigger without an ounce of remorse. He shot her six times in the chest, aiming straight for the heart.

Soon as I asked Giselle who else was down there with her, Kaymen and J’Ru were on point and surveyed the basement. They lit up the boiler, and the nigga hiding behind it barely got his gun up before his body hunched over. His heavy body hit the floor with a thud as he laid on the floor twitching while blood pooled out of him endlessly.

There was a brief stint of silence that struck the basement. Only thing that could be heard was Giselle’s final attempt for mercy. She gurgled up blood as she laid on the floor with her glossy yet cold eyes looking up me and Priest.

Priest made his way down the steps before squatting down to get closer to her. “You touch my heart—” he pointed to Jazzlyn, “—I stop yours. You went about this shit all wrong, stupid bitch. I could’ve fucking spared you, but you forced my hand. Now I gotta end you like I ended ya mother and father.”

Without a second thought, he shoved the barrel of his gun into her mouth that hung agape before pulling the trigger, sending her brain matter splattering against the wall.

I turned to Jazzlyn and undid the ropes around her hands and tape on her face. “‘Bout fucking time,” she croaked out in a raspy voice while offering me a weak smile. With the mixture of the car crash and the bullshit kidnapping, I could tell her body wanted to give out and rest, but she continued to push through.

I wrapped my arms around her and kissed all over her face. “You ight? Who the fuck was putting they hands on you?” My jaw clenched as I assessed her face.

“That bitch and that nigga Bryant over there.” She pointed to the body of the big nigga Kaymen and J’Ru popped.

I wanted to resurrect both of their asses and kill them again for putting their hands on my baby. I lifted her from the floor and carried her in my arms up the steps. Once I reached the top of the steps, Javi came up to us with a nigga at gun point.

“Look who I ran across,” Javi chuckled bitterly. “This Mr. Beanie who was talking all that tough shit over the phone. Figured you should do the honors, Ahk.”

I shot Javi a look of appreciation. He knew I had to be the one who knocked Beanie the fuck off. This nigga threatened to pimp my fucking wife like she was just an average bitch on the street. He had a big-ass ego to ever think he would live to see another day after he said some wild shit like that.

“Take her to the car.” I turned to Priest and handed Jazzlyn off to him. I didn’t want her walking until I knew the full extent of her injuries.

Diamond rushed over to us. “Sirens. We gotta dip. Now!”

“I’ll meet y’all out there,” I told them. “Go.”

“Ahk, we gotta get the fuck outta?—”

I interjected Kaymen before he could finish. “I said I’ll be out. Get my wife to the car.”

No one else decided to protest, and they all left me and Beanie standing there. He was nursing a bullet wound on his shoulder that he kept pressure on, but the look in his eye told me he thought he still had a fighting chance. I tucked my gun behind me before crashing my fist right into his funny-looking-ass face. He groaned in pain as he crashed into the wall behind him. There was a cinderblock at the top of the stairs that I assumed was used as a doorstop whenever they weren’t keepingmotherfuckas locked up in the basement. I picked it up and smashed it into his fucking head. Seeing his face disfigure from my rage brought me a small sense of relief, but nothing would make me feel better than putting Silas’ bitch ass down.

Beanie’s blood splattered against me as I heaved out angrily. He was squirming like a fish out of fucking water for a minute, but after I slammed the block into his face a couple more times, his body went still.

“Try that shit with somebody else’s wife, bitch-ass nigga.” I spat on him.

By the time I made it out the door and hopped into the whip, the sounds of the sirens were beginning to close in on the block. J’Ru slammed on the gas and got the fuck out of dodge. I rode in the back seat with Jazzlyn.

“You cut that shit close, Ahk. Fuck was you doing in there?” J’Ru shook his head.

“I told that nigga what it was when he was talking all that tough shit over the phone. I wasn’t gone let that shit slide.”

Jazzlyn rested her head on my lap. I could tell she was trying her best to keep herself up. Her body had been through the wringer today, and she finally felt safe.

“I knew your crazy ass was going to come for me.” She gave me a weak smile.

I craned down and kissed her forehead, nose, then her lips. “I’m gone always come for you, even if it’s the last thing I do. You’re my life. Without you, my world fucking stops. I’ll tear the fucking world up behind you, Lovey. Remember that.”

Chapter Thirty-One

JAZZLYN

I had been pricked, prodded, and examined for hours. Priest called in a favor with Britain’s mother, Seven, and she got me checked into the hospital where she worked. We didn’t want to draw too much attention because as soon as word got out, the Feds would come sniffing around. I honestly didn’t have shit to say to them. Just like I knew they would, my husband and brother handled it.
