I quickly make my way into the bathroom to get ready.
Entering the club a little later, I make my usual rounds to say hi to everyone. I feel like I’ve become a part of the family here. As I enter the kitchen, though, I hear hushed voices having what seems to be an argument.
I tiptoe in, and as I peak around the corner, I see Knox crowding Vix.
“You can’t wear what you wore last night ever again. I talked to Zayne, and he agrees,” he says sternly.
Vix's arms are folded, and she just rolls her eyes at Knox.
“Yeah, ok, Knox, not happening. And I know Zayne wouldn’t agree to that. Myssa already told me as much.”
I stifle a laugh, listening to them both use us in lies, knowing full well that neither of us said anything.
Knox pushes away from her, clearly irritated she won’t just agree. I quickly step around the corner to avoid being seen. I hear him sigh in defeat, so I slowly peek around the corner again.
“Please don’t wear it again,” he pleads.
Vix looks at him, still buzzing with anger.
“Look, Knox, first,” she points at him aggressively, “you’re not my boyfriend, and second, no one tells me what the fuck I can and cannot wear.”
The glare he gives her, and the color of his face, has me worried he’s about to explode. He growls as he paces back and forth, his chest heaving as if choosing his words.
Vix stands her ground, waiting for his backlash.
“First, you're right. I wouldn’t tell you what to wear, because I love everything you wear. I love everything about you. It drives me crazy that I have to share you with others.” He stops and looks at her, realizing what he’d just said. A look of relief, probably as a result of finally saying what’s on his mind, lights up his face. “And second,” he pauses. “Maybe I should be.” He starts to inch towards her, crowding her again.
Her arms fall and her mouth gapes. I hold my breath in anticipation of what she’s going to say.
“What did you just say?” she says softly.
“I’m tired of playing these fucking games, Vix. I’ve loved you from afar for so long, I can’t do it anymore. It’s killing me.” His confession is so raw, it almost brings me to tears.
Vix wipes at her eyes, and I lose it, quietly covering my own mouth with my hand, not to give away my intrusion.
“You said that backwards.” She smiles. He looks at her in confusion, and she continues. “The first and second, you answered back?—.”
“Would you shut up, woman?” He grins, as his lips crash into hers.
She pulls back for a second, and his brows furrow in confusion.
“I love you, too,” she admits, and Knox’s smile is so wide as he goes back to kissing her. Vix’s legs wrap around his waist, and I cringe as I hear a moan escape her lips. I shouldn’t be watching this.
I quickly turn back around the corner and jump up and down, flailing my arms like an idiot while silently screaming,Ohmy god, oh my god. I make a mad dash to Zayne’s office to tell him what I just saw.
“Hey,” I say, walking into the office and sitting in the chair in front of Zayne’s desk, aiming to be all cool and collective, while on the inside, I’m screaming.
“Hey, babe,” he says, looking engrossed in his laptop.
“You busy?”
“Yeah, problems with a shipment. I’m sorry, just give me a few minutes here, and I’ll be all yours,” he says as he looks over some paperwork.
“No worries,” I say, getting up, but he instantly stops, looking up at me. “I have some news to tell you, but it can wait until after. Find me when you’re done.”
“Ok, just need a few minutes.”
“No worries, I’m gonna go sit at the bar until Vix is there,” I say as I walk out the door.
