“Turn around,” he whispered.

I was aware of him watching me as I turned, with that look that made my entire body warm. When I faced him, the hunger in his eyes nearly undid me. He kissed me the second my hands touched him, slow at first, then deeper, hungrier. His hands stayed low on my hips, drawing me closer to him, making my breath stutter.

I could barely think straight with the steam curling around us as we kissed each other while letting our hands wander. I wanted him so badly it hurt.

Like he could read my thoughts, he pressed his forehead to mine, his voice a rough whisper. “Tell me if anything hurts.”

“Only if you stop,” I breathed.

His quiet groan vibrated against my lips. His hands slid beneath my thighs and he lifted me, settling my back against the cool tile wall as my legs wrapped around his waist. He moved with me—slow, deep, devastating in the best possible way. Our bodies fit together, and I gasped at the connection. Every shift of his body was controlled, careful, but the tension underneath that restraint made it hotter. He kissed down my neck, his hands guiding my hips exactly how I needed while keeping the weight off my injured side.

I clung to his shoulders, my nails in his skin, my body trembling as the heat built fast and sharp. My head fell back, water running over my skin as his voice found my ear.

“I’ve got you,” he whispered, low and certain. “Let go for me, Sunshine.”

I didn’t stand a chance. The ache in my arm and side had been forgotten about. The pleasure hit hard, shaking through me in waves that pulled a helpless sound from my chest. Caleb held me through all of it, saying my name as he came apart with me.

When I finally melted against him, shaking and breathless, he wrapped his arms around me carefully, keeping pressure off every tender place. He kissed me again, brushing a few wet strands of hair out of my eyes.

We lingered in the steam and water, hearts beating as one, my head leaning against his.

“I love you, Sunshine.”

“I love you, too, Ranger.”

After a moment, Caleb murmured against my ear, “Babe, will you move in with me, permanently?”

I lifted my head slightly, to look at him. “Permanently?” I asked, breathless and smiling.

He nodded. “Permanently.”

I smiled and then kissed him deeply.

We stayed under the water until it began to cool, then stepped out wrapped in towels and quiet smiles. Caleb dried me gently, starting at my shoulders and arms, then patting my legs.

“You just like touching me,” I teased softly.

“Guilty.” He grinned.

I wrapped the towel around me and stepped in front of the mirror, picking up my hairbrush, attempting to brush out the tangles.

Caleb stepped behind me, placing one hand on my waist, his other hand tracing circles on my shoulder. “You look like home.”

I leaned back into him, reaching up to touch his cheek. “Good,” I whispered. “This... this is where I’m meant to be.”

He kissed me again like he was reminding me I was safe, loved, wanted, and his.

Two people, finally whole again—together.
