“Sweetheart, you don’t have to worry about a thing. Leave it all to me.”

His lips were on my nipple as his fingers fluttered between my folds. Not fair. “At least, tell me who you’re going to leave The Night Skulls to,” I moaned. “Beth?”

Suddenly, he stilled. Then his head lifted from my breast and stared at me. “Every time you call Mama by her real name I’m shocked as if I didn’t know she shared it with you. I still can’t get past her revealing it to you like that.”

“That woman would do anything for you. You, too.” That dance they did after Roar’s death to save each other, as if they’d rehearsed a thousand times before yet they’d never even had a e chance to discuss it, was mind blowing. “We both know that.”

“So you like Mama now?”

I rolled my eyes. “Like?” That woman was a psychopath, and if it weren’t for the fact that I was the only one who knew where Dusty had been at that time, she would have probably tortured me a lot worse than Roar had. “She saved my life and yours, for that she’ll always have my gratitude and respect.”

He cackled. “Fair enough.”

“Sure she’s no fan of mine either. I mean I’ll always be the woman who kidnapped her son.”

“Best time of my life.” His mouth and fingers returned with a vengeance, blowing my fucking mind.

I bit my lip, shuddering. “Stop distracting me and answer the question.” No matter how easy it was to lose myself and melt into Dusty, I needed to know. Besides, if we got started again, we’d never stop, and I had to be in class in a couple of hours.

“No. Not Mama,” he mumbled, not leaving my now engorged nipple.

“Seriously?”

His looked up at me, giving me a multiple, quick flicks with his tongue before he released my breast with a pop. “She won’t be happy about it, but putting her in command could start an unnecessary riot inside the MC. It sounds sexist, but she’s a woman. An ol’lady. The Night Skulls is always run by men, patched members. Not to mention the other chapters. Even if we made an exception, after what they think she did to Roar, they wouldn’t be very pleased.”

I took a moment to let it all sink in. “So who’s going to be the next Night Skulls’ President?”

CHAPTER 35

Cameron

In the next couple days, I learned Dusty hadn’t decided yet which Night Skull he was going to nominate as his successor. That was why he had that meeting with the Lanzas and his VP. Rush.

I was shocked to know Dusty kept Roar’s VP as his. Was it another demand from Cosimo Lanza or did Dusty approve of the position himself?

“Why on earth did you make him your VP?” I’d kept myself out of anything MC related, but I was unable to keep my mouth shut any longer.

Dusty ran a hand through his wet hair, nothing covering his body but a towel around his waist. “What do you mean?”

“That man, Rush, must have ulterior motives to behave the way he did back then. Turning down the presidency because the Lanzas said so? And how quickly he was on Mama’s side? Something is off. Besides, he wasRoar’sVP. He can’t be trusted.”

He stared at me for a second. Then a pale smile stretched his lips.

I shrugged. “What?”

“You worry too much, sweetheart. Why don’t you leave—”

“Leave it all to you. Yeah, yeah.” I waved a dismissive hand as I spun to head into the shower. Tonight was the Halloween early Valentine’s. I needed to get ready. The last thing I wanted was a fight.

Besides, he was right. I should leave it all to him. I should stay away from anything Night Skulls like I always did. Couldn’t keep my mouth shut for two more weeks? What was I thinking? Why did I have to ask about the new president? Now I was more worried and afraid for Dusty, and those upcoming couple of weeks wouldn’t be as easy as I thought they would be.

I started for the bathroom, but his hand on my waist stopped me in my tracks. I looked at him over my shoulder, both his arms folded around me from behind now.

“I know you’re worried,” he said. “Outside the MC, Rush can’t be considered…a good man. But inside, he’s one of the best.”

I sighed, my jaws tight.

“I know it’s hard for you to believe this, but we’re brothers, a family. We have a code, Cammie. Breaking it means nothing but a death sentence. Even if he hasulterior motives, he can’t act upon them.”
