Asher

Opening my eyes, I scanned the luxurious down pillows surrounding Lennon and me. I had drifted into a deep slumber with her cozily nestled in my arms for the first time. Waking up next to her only confirmed what I already knew—I needed this, neededher, until the day I died. There was a soft, content ease between us, an unspoken tether of tragic connection that bound our souls together like fragile threads, each grasping for security.

Her luminously pale body, naked and pressed against my side, felt like the closest I could get to heaven. The duvet, a warm cloud, enveloped us both. Lennon slept soundly, her blonde hair tousled over my chest and spilling over the pillow.

A thought drifted through my mind—one I’d never had before. This type of happiness. This reward that came from working through something, even when it became almost unbearable. I had found the path into her heart, and it was becoming one of the most fulfilling quests of my life. Love had always come easily to me, but now, this—this—was worth the challenge. This was what my soul had been searching for all along.

Peering over the side of the bed, I noticed little Nova curled up in a tight ball, sleeping soundly. Her long, fluffy, dark fur looked impossibly soft. I inhaled deeply, feeling a sense of peacesettle over me. But underneath it, something brewed. A restless desire to shake things up.

I wanted to wake up Lennon.

Dislodging my arm from underneath her, she lay unbothered. Her features were calm—relaxed. Fuck, she was so perfect. Shifting onto my stomach, I leaned up and kissed her neck.

I pulled back slightly, watching her closely for any twinge of movement. When she stayed still, I tried again, gently kissing her jawline and slowly working my way up to her ear. A soft smile flickered across her lips, and I knew I was making progress. Sliding my arms under the pillow, I pulled her closer, continuing to kiss along her neck while brushing her hair away from her face.

I pulled away slightly to take in her features, and found her bright green eyes wide open, staring directly at me. Unable to stop myself, a smile tugged at my lips. “Good morning, little siren.”

She scoffed and pushed me away. I rolled onto my back, watching her, unsure of what her next move was. Without missing a beat, Lennon scrambled on top of me, straddling my waist and pressing her hands firmly against my chest to steady herself.

“Trying to get lucky this early in the morning, Asher?” she asked, her voice dripping with coyness.

I chuckled to myself. “If that’s where it led with you, I wouldn’t be upset about that.”

She watched me carefully, as if weighing her next move. Slowly, she shifted, lowering herself so she was sitting directly on top of my hard cock. I sucked in a sharp breath, seething with surprise at the sudden shift.

Lennon hosted a sinister look upon her face with a grin that was laced with deviance. She crawled up my chest until her facewas inches away from mine. She whispered, “Remember how we were going to share our dark little fantasies?”

Reaching up, our mouths connected as I laced my fingers through her hair. Our tongues wild with lust and urgency. Every interaction felt like it might be the last, as if we were racing to make sure it never ended—an oxymoron of actions.

Breathless, I nodded. “Yes, I remember.”

Gulping, she took a moment to gather her thoughts, a smile spreading wide once again. “Well then, I have an idea. I didn’t know if you were going to like it, but it had been on my mind ever since we went bungee jumping.”

Curiosity piqued, I said, “Go on.”

Before she said anything further, she peered over toward the other side of the room inside the hotel. I followed her gaze and noticed that she was looking at the balcony. She must have sensed my uncertainty and what she was looking at, because she smirked and widened her eyes.

Then it hit me.

“Ohh…dark fantasy. On the balcony. You do know we are twenty stories or more up in the air, right?”

“And does that scare you?” she asked.

I chuckled lightly. “Yes. But everything with you does, so fuck it—I guess I’m in.”

With that, she leapt off the bed, peering down at the little dark furball on the cushion. Nova stretched into her next nap cycle, leaving us a sliver of time to enjoy each other before she needed us again. Lennon swung around in her perfect, naked glory and crooked her finger, silently beckoning me to follow.

Without wasting any time, I flipped the covers off the bed, exposing myself to Lennon. Her gaze dipped, catching a view of me in full. The spark that lit her expression made something warm and reckless stir in my chest.

I stalked toward her with confidence, ready to have my way with her—or was it the other way around?

She removed the safety bar in the doorway and yanked the patio door open as it slid with ease. Lennon stepped out into the brisk morning breeze, bare feet meeting the concrete edge of the balcony, embracing her nudity—and Jesus, she looked enchanting. I followed behind her, realizing we were surrounded by towering skyscrapers that likely held early risers who could see us if they happened to be awake at this hour.

Nerves flooded my bloodstream as I stepped onto the balcony myself. The height was jarring, and my body began to shake before I could stop it. While I struggled to find my bearings, a gentle hand reached for mine and pulled me closer to her. My heart rate subsided as I locked eyes with her.

She wrapped her arms around my neck, drawing me into an embrace that had our mouths chasing one another. It was frantic and wild—her fingers threaded through my hair while my hands gripped her waist and the curve of her hips, exploring her body. We were needy for each other. With every passing second, the need only deepened.

“I need you,” Lennon whimpered in my ear.
