Rune picking up on every single emotion was one thing, he’s my scent match like Dimitri, it’s expected and there’s a different level of awareness there. Liv and I spent a lot of time together before we realized we had a soul bond. I always figured that was why we can read each other so well, and I really believe that’s a big part of it, but I might be wrong about scent matches being the only ones in tune with each other. Apparently soul bonds don’t play around either.

“Before I hit you with my plan, I want you to know, it was concocted with the best of intentions.” Leon reaches over and pats my knee before he rests his hand there. “The best ofintentions, and the pressing need to get all six of us naked and fucking as soon as possible.”

I laugh despite the way I blush. “You just put it all right out there, don’t you?”

Leon hesitates for a split second, a moment that goes by almost too quickly for me to notice, but I do. I notice the way he almost winces at what I said, and I can tell he wants to take his hand away because of it.

“It’s not a bad thing,” I say as I take his hand in both of mine and keep it on my leg. “Not at all. It’s been a while since I’ve talked to anyone without a filter other than Liv, and I appreciate it. It makes things easier, especially when you’re getting to know someone.”

He relaxes as he smiles. “Between you and me, it’s hard to get a total read on that.”

“I figured.”

“It might be hard to believe, but not everyoneappreciatesmy way with words. Especially when they’re fueled by a machine that might be missing a few cogs, and have a couple too many screws loose.”

I give his hand another squeeze as I smile, looking down at how nice the tattoo on the back of his looks against the ones on mine. “You’re perfect for us, then.”

He tightens his hold then proceeds to render me speechless.

“I think you need to make Dimitri crawl, and you need to do it immediately.”

My eyes snap to his as he laughs. “What?”

“Crawl, baby. Hands and knees, the whole deal.”

“Not that I completely disagree, but, well, have you met him?”

“I’ve been tracking him for months,” Leon says as we make a left then a right onto a dirt road. “I know how that fucker is. I still think you need to make him crawl.”

“Okay. I’m listening.” I listen all the way to Styx’s farmhouse, then deep into the woods behind it, and keep listening until Liv and Dimitri get out of his truck, bickering away, and join us at thevats of lye and sulfuric acid.

“Do I want to know how you got your hands on all of this?” Our girl asks as she crosses her arms against her chest. “Or why you have so much?”

“I’ve been a little murdery since D decided to plant roots out here.” Leon produces a pair of gloves for each of us then puts on his own. “He’s a very popular guy.”

“I’mDto you now?”

Leon grins at Dimitri then plants a quick kiss on his lips. “For now. Might call youbig Din a little while.”

Liv and I both laugh as we watch our alphas get to work, exchanging playful jabs as they open the industrial size barrels. We help, too, once they start unrolling tarps, the two of us dropping bodies into vats right along with them so we can once again move things along.

My heart starts to race as we finish, Leon’s plan running through my mind as we walk back to the barn and head up to the apartment over it.

It’s nice, clean, and very simple. It’s relatively minimal since it’s only temporary for Styx. I guess he’s going to speed up the renovations on the farmhouse since he’s hoping the six of us will live there together.

It surprised me some to hear that, even though it shouldn’t have.

Leon said he and Styx have been planning and mapping things out since the day Rune, Liv, and I applied at Knotted Obsessions, and since connections and bonds have been confirmed, the timeline has been moved up.

Moved up so we can all move in.

The one hundred and fifty year old farmhouse is deceptively big.

Eight bedrooms, four bathrooms, two living rooms, an office and library space, a formal dining room, breakfast nook, and a chef’s kitchen. There’s also an attic and basement, but I got distracted as soon as Leon told me about the kitchen because, eating disorder or not, I would love to be able to cook for my pack in something like that. He said Styx likes to cook, too, which only further distracted me. The idea of cooking for our pack together turned kind of raunchy, and it didn’t help when Leon said that we can each have our own room for hobbies or whatever if we wanted, and the dogs will get to decide if they want their own spaces, too, but the expectation is for the six of us to share a bedroom they’re going to have to have built to accommodate. For sleeping and fucking, as he so eloquently put it.

I pictured all six of us in bed together and if we hadn’t pulled up to the dump site right when that happened, I would be rocking a terrible case of blue balls right now.

Walking through Styx’s apartment, waiting as each of us shower off the blood and other things we’ve been covered in, I might be dealing with that problem anyway if I don’t go through with Leon’s plan.
