I brush a few tears from his eyes and give him a soft smile. “Like you said, honey, he’s your bonded alpha. You exchanged bites. It’s ironclad regardless of what happened between you. You are always going to love him, and he’s always going to love you.”Even if it’s from the grave. That alpha is in big fucking trouble.“I know in my heart that you and I have a soul bond, that you and I are connected in a way that is so much deeper than I could have imagined. And we’re linked through Rune, too. He’s our scent match, he’s another way you and I will always be together, and even if I want to throttle him for what he did to you, you are my link to Dimitri. I’m soul bonded to him the same way I am you, I can feel it, and that’s why you shouldn’tfeel guilty about having sex with him now. It changes nothing between us, between you and Rune, or anyone else we collect along the way.” He snorts out a little laugh and my smile grows. “You and me, I think we’re the heart of this pack, but wearea pack that keeps growing, and that means all of the connections, all of the love and relationships tied up in it, none of them are wrong. Messy and complicated? Sure, but not wrong, and none of us should feel guilty or weird about anything that happens between any of us, now or before we met, just because it might not make sense or be what we’re used to. This pack and every stubborn, grumpy, cocky asshole who’s a part of it belong to all of us, and nothing in the world is going to change it.”

Niko gives me a watery smile and dips his chin, giving me the sweetest kiss before pressing his forehead to mine. “I really fucking love you, kitten.”

“I love you, too, my sweet boy.” Then I wag my eyebrows and try to really drill home the fact that Niko did nothing wrong. “And honestly, your lavender mixed with that dickhead’s butterscotch is making me kind of horny.”

My omega barks out a laugh and shakes his head, masking both of us up before turning me to the door, and I breathe a little easier knowing he’s going to be okay.

Niko is still mine, and he’s going to be okay.

I can’t say the same for Dimitri, though.

That fucker is about to get to get what he’s had coming to him for almost two years, and I’m going to make sure he knows it before I leave this goddamn club.

“I forgot something at the bar,”I say as Niko gets into the truck. “Give me five minutes, I’ll be right back.”

He frowns but doesn’t say anything, he just nods and lets Rune buckle him into his seat.

“Five minutes. I promise.”

I spin on my heel and jog to the back door, scanning my card and slipping in quickly so I don’t have to break that promise.

I rush down the hall, bypassing the dressing rooms and dancers, zig zagging my way through the bouncers until I’m back on the main floor then stop next to one of the cage dancers. My eyes ping around the packed tables, scanning the high tops and stage seating before searching both bars.

I don’t really know what Dimitri looks like, not outside of Niko’s vague description.Tall, dark, and handsomecould be any number of these alphas but I’m banking on my bond, bite or not, with my omega to guide me to the right one. It’s either that or I start questioning everyone inside this club and somehow I don’t think my beta would appreciate me interrogating his patrons.

Movement to my right has my head swinging in that direction and as I see Alexei clear the stock room, followed by a male almost as big as he is, my stomach flips in recognition.

Niko was not wrong.

Dimitri is very tall, his hair is almost black and rather messy, his body is big and grizzled, and he carries himself in a rather menacing manner. He’s pretty fucking hot, not that I should be surprised since I’ve thought that about every single one of my mates, but Dimitri definitely has a dark presence, a heavy one that I imagine comes from a hard but privileged life.

And while I know in my gut that is the alpha bonded to my omega, the one I’m looking for right now, Niko failed to mention one thing that would have made it a thousand times easier to find him. Not that this was as hard as I thought it was going to be, but still.

Had he told me his extremely good looking matewore an eye patch, I wouldn’t have wasted any time at all.

Especially since the eye patch is sexy as fuck.

Pushing those kinds of thoughts aside, I watch them stop in front of the door to the second floor, exchanging a few words with Alexei before that asshole heads inside, and the one I want to talk to makes his way to the smaller bar.

I try to keep my composure as I head toward him, barely able to keep myself from running, but when I’m close enough to smell that butterscotch and what I now scent as bourbon, I don’t bother. I run right up to that dickhead, grab his arm and spin him on his stool so he’s facing me.

Whoa.

Good god, he really is hot.

“Dimitri?” I growl, positive it’s him but still wanting to be one hundred percent sure. “Dimitri Volkov?”

He nods slowly, looking me up and down as he takes a hit from a cigarette.

Thank fuck.

Instead of answering the questions I can clearly see in his eye, likewho the fuck are youandwhy can I smell my omega on you, or asking any of my own, I let my instincts rule and cock my fist back before letting it fly, my knuckles landing right in the middle of his already bruised and broken nose.

Dimitri grunts and growls at the same time, catching my wrist when I go to hit him again, but it isn’t his turn to talk right now. I don’t have the time or the patience to listen to anything he has to say.

“I swear to god, if youeverhurt Niko again,” I growl back, my voice low enough that only he can hear me. “Mates or not, I will cut your dick off at the knot and shove it so far down your throat, you won’t be able to tell the difference between that and your fucking wind pipe.”

I yank my arm away from his grip and turn, holding my head high as I march through the club and out the back door, smiling behind my mask because that was only a taste of what I plan on doing to that alpha.
