I turn on my side to face her directly. “Of course.”
“It’ll help keep Landon in the dark too.”
Landon is the last thing on my mind, but yeah, I guess she’s right.
“And your mattress is really comfortable.” she continues. “So these sleepovers aren’t the worst thing before a game.”
“Well, that’s good.” Though Landon’s decorator deserves the kudos, not me.
“Or the orgasms,” she teases faintly, before yawning again.
That’salsogood to hear, but I try to stay cool. “We wouldn’t want to affect your game tomorrow.”
“No worries about that.”
“I promise I’ll last longer when it counts.” Oh shit, maybe I shouldn’t assume? But she should know I’d die for a chance to be inside her. “I mean, if that happens sometime.”
“I suspect it will.”
Her sleepiness doesn’t hide the amusement in her voice, and I can’t resist poking at her in return.
“So your ‘no dating athletes’ rule doesn’t mean you won’t fuck one?”
It’s a joke, but also—yeah, I want to know.
Her eyes flash, and then the corners of her lips turn up.

AIDEN: You free to catch up?
AVERY: Sure. Call me whenever you’re ready.
Ijust got home from Rawley’s, and an update from Aiden is a welcome distraction. Even though I slept enough, my body feels a little worked up from all the activities last night.
Well, well worth it.
I left right after we woke up, even though some part of me wanted to soak up the quiet morning with him. He offered to drive me, but I ordered a car, not wanting to put him out.
Plus it’s game day, and I’ve got to try to settle in to get ready, not think about a guy.
Thatsexy, funny, and sweet guy, specifically.
“Hey,” I answer when my phone buzzes.
“Good morning. Or it will be once I share the latest.”
No one would mistake Aiden for humble, I think with a grin. Not that I care, as long as he takes care of business.
“That sounds promising. What’s happened?”
“I have the contract from SkyHigh in hand. It all looks good to me, and I’m going to send it to you and your mom once we getoff. I would suggest having a lawyer review it too. Dylan has one he likes.”
