“Hmm… Want to do more of it?” Jennifer asked.
“Time in nature? Yes. It’s inspiring, isn’t it? So peaceful.”
Kristina placed her arms over Jennifer’s and rested back against her.
“I have a cabin in Michigan,” Jennifer shared. “Well, it’s not really mine. I don’t own it or anything. It’s a family cabin, but we can all use it. We just have to make sure no one else is there when we want to go. It’s on the lake, but far from skyscrapers.”
“You really know how to woo a girl, don’t you?”
“I hope I know how to wooyou.”
“I don’t need fancy bathtubs or cabins. You know that, right?”
“I know.” Jennifer kissed her neck. “But it doesn’t hurt my case.”
“Babe, you don’t need a case. I have never felt this way before, and only part of that is because of the amazing sex.” Kristina turned in her arms. “Come on. Let’s go inside.”
CHAPTER 41
Gage
“Um… We get to skip the cards. That’s cool,” she said.
Carrie smiled at her and replied, “Yeah, cool.” She then walked over to Gage, who was standing by the bar, and asked, “Need a drink before we go?”
“I’m okay.”
“Really? You seem nervous,” Carrie noted, placing her hands on her hips.
Gage looked down and said, “This is the part I’m not very good at.”
“The standing by the bar part?” Carrie teased.
“The date part.”
“You were fine today on the hike.”
“We were with the others,” she said with a little laugh. “Not exactly a romantic date.”
“I don’t know.Ithought it was pretty romantic.”
“We had to hold on to a rope.”
She looked back up and met Carrie’s eyes.
“Which we managed to do without yelling at each other, and we laughed a lot along the way. I call that a success.”
“Not romantic, though.”
“We had a picnic by a lake, Gage. You and I shared our own blanket, and I made sure to set it up several feet away from the others. I kissed you.”
“You did.” Gage smiled. “I remember.”
“I’d hope so; it was a few hours ago.”
Gage laughed and said, “I know. I’m sorry. I’m better at sex. I swear, I’m good atthatpart, at least.”
“You’re not bad at this part,” Carrie replied and cupped her cheek.
