“If I don’t know what you’ve got, I won’t be able to tell if weird statues just show up in your place too.” Knox went back to taking in every detail, even turning in a circle to make sure he didn’t miss anything. “I can’t keep worrying about the weird shit much longer.”
That actually sounded exhausting and was probably part of the reason he came across as so fucking distracted all the time. But I had a feeling I knew a way to help alleviate some of his stress.
“Then let’s take some pictures.” I thought the answer was obvious, but he stopped moving and his eyes went wide. “That way we’ll know if anything weird happens here.”
The chances of that were slim to none, but logic had left the building, so I didn’t even try to find where it’d wandered off to.
“Do...do you think that would work?” His gaze dropped down to my hand as I pulled my phone out of my pocket. “Do ghosts and things like that mess with electronics? I can’t remember.”
I wasn’t sure if it was a good question or not, but it was a problem I could fix.
“I don’t know, but I have an idea.” Unlocking my phone, I pulled up the camera app and handed it over. “You take a videoof this room and then the kitchen. I have a backup plan just in case.”
I wasn’t going to analyze the logic in any of it because that really didn’t matter any longer. Knox was worried and fixing that was the only thing we were going to focus on. “One sec.”
Heading back through the house, I went to the closet, which was my version of a well-organized junk drawer, and pulled out a silly-looking pink Polaroid camera I never thought I’d use again. “Fingers crossed this still works.”
Knox was finishing up his video as I made my way back to the living room, and I had to smile as I heard his commentary. “Nothing weird. Nothing out of place. All his knickknacks look like they make sense. No weird statues and the only odd thing is a collection of shot glasses from really strange places I’ve never heard of. But that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.”
Had he found stuff in his house from places he didn’t think existed?
Nope, I wasn’t going to ask.
When he came back into the living room and finally lowered my phone, I stepped into the open-plan space. “Alright, here we go. Instant photos can’t be fucked with as easily.”
Hopefully.
Knox turned around and frowned, probably intending to say something about ghosts or gremlins, but the camera distracted him completely. His frown was so confused and adorable, I had to remind myself that laughing would’ve been rude. “It’s very pretty.”
Rolling my eyes, I shook my head. “I didn’t buy it. I went to a wedding last year where they had these on the tables so guests could take candid photos of the reception.”
“Oh.” He straightened and nodded. “That’s good to know. The color was unexpected and I started to worry that there was stuff you hadn’t told me yet.”
Huh?
“Not that it would’ve been a deal-breaker.” He seemed to think I knew what he was talking about and that he had something to apologize for. “I’m very open-minded.”
He was nuts...there was a difference.
But pointing that out wouldn’t have been helpful, so I decided to get us back on track talking about the ridiculous conversation I was confident about.
Gremlins.
“What should we take pictures of?” I knew my place wasn’t haunted, so I didn’t care what he took photos of.
Knox, on the other hand, was convinced gremlins were fucking with him, so he took the camera very seriously. “Thank you. Yes, we need a plan. Real film isn’t endless.”
Nope.
But his reasoning made me confident his brain was working even if it was a tad bit overwhelmed. So I walked behind him and wrapped my arms around him so his back was pressed against my chest. “That’s right. So you’re going to talk me through which areas we’re going to monitor.”
Knox looked like he was trying to nod, but his signals got mixed when he pressed back against me and moaned. “Yes...we have...places we’re going to monitor.”
He seemed to think his ass was needed to make that work based on the way it was rubbing my cock. “You’re...you’re going to be a big help.”
I wasn’t sure if that was a dick joke or a reference to the way I’d pushed him into an impromptu vacation, but either way I nodded. “Averybig one.”
The size queen moaned and his whole body seemed to clench. “I’m very grateful for that too.”
