Chapter 14

Michael

Holy fucking shit. Damn woman. Everything inside me was screaming to give her what she begged for, but I couldn’t take advantage of her situation. We both wanted it. Hell, I’ve never wanted anything more in my entire life.

It’s a good thing she left when she did. I swear one more minute of her arguing with me, and I would have been spanking her bare ass. She infuriates me and excites me at the same time.

What the fuck am I gonna do?

You’ll handle it,I tell myself. I got myself into this, and I will handle it and it will work out.

Just then, my phone dings.

Need to call in a favor.

Ice is in trouble.

Need a good lawyer, ASAP.

Oh, and Ice wants Sainte. Can you spare him?

The text is from Hawk, VP of the Knights of Silence MC in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, but he is also the chapter VP, directly under Ice. The MC has helped us out a lot in the past with several chapters in the state. They’ve always been available to us, especially when we needed extra muscle. We’ve always owed them, and it looks like now, they need us.

I respond back:

I’ll have a top attorney in Edinboro in the morning.

I’ll see what I can do about Sainte.

Hawk replies:

10am, Betty’s Dinor

I find it curious that Ice wants Sainte. Then I chuckle. This must involve a woman. I shake my head. I sure as hell hope he knows what he’s getting into with Sainte. I don’t know what Ice’s motives are, but from what I know about him, he never does anything without a motive behind it.I wonder what he got arrested for.The boys will have to fill me in on the details.

Next to Ricco and Marco, Sainte is probably the best we got. Hell, sometimes I believe his coldness gives him a bigger edge than the others. He’s a player when it comes to women and makes sure he has no emotional ties. He’s not afraid to die and will take chances the others will not. Sometimes, I wish I were more like him. There are times when I believe I care too much. Sainte does not care about anything but protecting whom or what he’s assigned to, at all costs. Perhaps it’s why Ice wants him. I would bet anything he wants Sainte to protect his old lady. Which also surprises me ’cause for as long as I have known Ice, he’s never had an old lady. He’s always been a love-them-and-leave-them kind of guy, never wanting a relationship or ties to any one woman. But then again, things change.

I go to my recent contacts in my phone and dial Vince. He answers on the second ring. “Hey, is everything all right?” he immediately asks.

“Yeah, I’m calling because I have a job for you.”

“Oh, yeah. You remember I’m not an enforcer, right?

“It’s not that kind of job. A friend of mine has gotten himself in trouble with the law. He needs a lawyer, and I have the best defense attorney in the country in my back pocket.”

“Michael, I just can’t drop everything to help out one of your thugs. I have clients and a caseload,” he replies.

“Well, you just added a new client to your list. His name is Caden Jackson, but he goes by Ice. He’s the president of the Knights of Silence MC and the national MC president as well. I told them you would be there tomorrow morning.”

“And where am I going?” he asks.

“Pennsylvania, Edinboro, to be exact. You’ll be meeting the club’s VP, Hawk, at Betty’s Dinor at ten a.m. Betty’s is located downtown. I’ll text you Hawk’s contact information.”

“Pennsylvania! What the fuck, Michael!” he yells into the phone.

“Look, Vince, I don’t have time to argue with you. I am head of this family now, and I am really getting tired of constantly reminding you that when I say I want something done, it gets done. No questions asked.Capisci?”

“Understood. I just don’t know how I’m gonna make this work.”
