Garret’s voice is muffled, his face buried in his palms. “That was your plan? Seriously? That was it? I mean, I assumed it was, but I always just kind of hoped you had something better going on in that brain of yours. Jesus fuck, dude. Graduate and he’ll let you have Teddy? That was the whole fucking plan?” He groans into his own hands. I know the feeling.
My voice raises above the muttering in the room, “Alright, kids…KIDS! Everybody chill the fuck out.” All eyes turn to me.
“So, you two—” I turn towards the idiot twins, leaning forward and giving them my full attention. “What’s your old man gonna do now? You gave up Teddy, went to college…almost got your degree. What’s he holding over you that’s kept you away for so long?” The two exchange a look like I must be the biggest idiot on God’s green earth.
Garret speaks first. “Well, he’s our dad…” I make a go-on motion with my hands. “And…um…money.” His head drops back into his hands. “God we’re idiots, aren’t we?”
Steve finally pops up. “That’s not exactly right. I mean, it’s partly right, but not…shit. How do I explain?” I let him chew on his lip for a few minutes before I try again.
“So, basically, daddy’s rich, and you don’t know what to do with yourselves without money.” They both look like I slapped them, and yeah, verbally anyway. “Steve, you were willing to give Teddy up for money. Is that what I’m hearing?” His confusion flashes to outrage.
“Of course not. I just…It’s not that simple. I thought I could take time, take care of what needed to get done and then…then he’d have to let me…shit. No, Teddy was always the end goal. I just…got lost on how to get there.”
The omega in question huffs behind my back and I hear a mumbled, “No shit, Sherlock,” from Kelly. I bite the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling at the tiny beta and her rare use of profanity. I’m glad she’s as protective of our omega as I am, and it’s adorable.
Garret and Steve are bickering back and forth like a couple of hens while my brain works. Finally, I turn to Teddy. “I may not be great at saying it, but you know I love you, right?”
His breath catches, and he nods. Kelly smiles at both of us. “You too, pretty girl, you can’t get away.” She blushes that adorable pink that I enjoy so much. “Teddy, you’ve already made it…painfully clear that you want this little punk. That still true?” He looks at Steve, who’s finally shut up and is watching us all carefully. Teddy nods, barely noticeable, but it’s there.
“And the other one?” This directed at Kelly.
“Sorry, Sam, but he feels almost as much like home as you and Teddy. If that’s ok with you. I don’t want to make anybody uncomfortable.” She presses back against Teddy who starts purring, kicking off Garret’s purr in response.
Standing up from my chair, I turn a glare back to the twins. “Well, you boys need to deal with your daddies. Whatever the hell their issues are. Especially this…Marc, was it? They’re not your problem anymore if you’re here, you get me?” They both nod numbly in response as I point to the phone sitting in the cup holder of Steve’s chair. “Pick up your fucking phone, take the goddamned call when it happens. Explain to him that you’re done. If you can’t even do that, then you don’t deserve to have Teddy anyway.”
My gaze swings to his brother. “You…back up your brother. If you think Daddy Dearest is gonna be pissy about a male omega, I can guaran-fucking-tee that he’s not gonna be happy with you mating a beta. And I can’t imagine that either one of you won’tcatch a load of shit for not being lead alpha. But fuck it, my house, my rules. Deal with it.”
Turning to my pack, I say, “Teddy, remind me to call the fuckin’ courthouse tomorrow, see if we can change our paperwork to add two more members. If we need to refile everything or if we can make adjustments since they probably haven’t sent it in yet with this weather. I’ll see what I can figure out later and fill everything out again, just in case.”
Finally, I turn and hold my hand out to Kelly. “Come on, Sugar. I didn’t get any sort of release earlier. I am tense as shit, and I wanna make you feel so good. That work for you?” She smiles at me and she takes my hand, letting me pull her up and against my chest. “So, it’s probably not something you’ve thought about before, Kelly Girl, but would you be interested in training how to take a knot?”
Her sweet blush brightens her cheeks and she looks over at Teddy for a second before turning back to me. He answers instead of her. “Sorry, Sam, we already started on that a few days ago while you were working on the nest. Kelly asked if it was possible, and I was helping her out.” My look of confusion must be apparent by the sound of Kelly’s giggling. “Teddy’s not hiding a surprise knot. I can explain later, Alpha. You wanna take me upstairs and I can show you?”
Well, damn, I don’t know what I did in a past life to get this lucky, but fuck me.
Wrapping my arms around Kelly, I lift her up and make short work of the stairs to get back to our bedroom. It’s not my greatest moment leaving Teddy behind, but those boys need to sort their shit. This way they get the privacy to talk and I get to taste a sweet little beta.
Chapter 49
Aww, Sam ruined his own surprise. Of course we were playing the long game. It’s not like this stretching thing wasn’t going to take a while to do. It’s not exactly uncomfortable, and I imagine it’ll feel really good once I have more experience. But trying it without the practice seems like it would hurt way too much to even be a possibility. Still, I do wanna try, not specifically for Sam, or now Garret, but because I think it could feel really good for me.
It’s kinda like those ladies who get piercings on their nether regions. I’m not brave enough to do that. I don’t like the idea of a needle down there, but I’ve heard it feels really good once it heals. I’m a total chicken, though. But this I can do, it’s just a little stretch for now, and building up over time as I get used to it.
Of course, he brought it up, and now it’s almost like he’s trying to talk me out of it. My legs are wrapped around his hips as he carries me up the stairs. He’s not lean like Steve and Garret, though Garret definitely has more muscles than his brother. He’s not as thick around the middle as Teddy, but he’s built likea marble sculpture. It’s kind of intimidating, especially when he gets so intense.
“Kelly…Sweetheart. You don’t have to do anything you’re uncomfortable with. You know that, right? I mean, I’m flattered that you want to try, but I don’t want you to get hurt in the process. So you have to tell me if I do anything that hurts, or you want me to stop. Tell me right away, ok?” Pulling myself tight against his chest I bite lightly against his neck, causing a full body rumble to go through him, and I can’t stop the little squeak that pops out when it vibrates his solid length against my clit where we’re pressed together. That’s a heck of a shock, but also feels really good, and I melt against him.
“Sugar, if you don’t stop that right now, we aren’t gonna make it to the bedroom.” His big hand comes down with a loud smack on my butt, and I start to bite at him again before realizing we may be in a bit of a standoff here.
