“I’ll be back.” She cut her eyes at me before she stomped off to the house.

“So, you just letting old ladies touch on your ass now?” Mona scoffed.

“Sweets—” he tried to reason with her, but it was no use.

“Hell nah. Any other time, you got the most to say, but now you stuttering? The fuck is that?”

I played it cool for exactly two minutes of Mona lighting Tahmir’s ass up before I slipped inside the house. I tried to find Amaya, but ended up turning around in the house before I realized that I had to use the restroom. I slid inside the first one I found and handled my business. When I came out, Amaya popped up out of nowhere and cornered me outside the door.

“What’s good?” I asked, my hand immediately finding her ass. We had been keeping our distance out of respect and the fact that she didn’t want all her nosy ass relatives in our business. Weweren’t necessarily hiding it, but we weren’t flaunting it either. If she thought I was keeping my hands off that ass in private, she had me messed up.

“Nothing,” she said, her lips pushed out into a pout. “I just missed you a little bit.” It took everything in me not to break into a full smile at her declaration. She swore she was so hard, but every day, her mask slipped further and she let me in a little bit more. I pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her pouty lips, squeezing her ass when she deepened the kiss. She was so eager to catch me alone that she seemed to have forgotten about her freaked out auntie. I was just about to take her pretty ass in the bathroom and fuck her on the sink a lil’ bit, when her brothers came storming in the house.

“Just who we needed to see,” Amari said as he forced his way between us and pushed my hands away from his sister. “We need to holla at you, my nigga!”

“What are y’all doing?” she huffed.

“This is real nigga business,” AJ said, pushing her toward the back door.

“Okay, and I’m the realest nigga here,” she blurted out, making me laugh.

“Man, gon’ ‘head!” Amari said, poking her in the forehead. She retaliated by punching him in the side so hard that he damn near fell over.

“Amaya,” AJ fussed. “Go outside. Ain’t nobody finna do nothin’ to this big nigga! We just wanna talk to him. We already had a talk with Tahmir outside, now it’s his turn.”

“Fine.” She kissed her teeth before grabbing the collar of my shirt and planting a kiss to my lips.

“Ugh, get on somewhere with that, man!” Amari fussed. I tried not to be obvious with the way that I watched her ass switch out the door, but when I turned to their scowling faces, I knew I failed.

“My fault.” I cleared my throat. “What’s good, fellas?”

“I just need to make sure my sister is in good hands with you,”Amari said, puffing his chest up like he was about to do something. I let him have his moment, but truth be told, I was much more afraid of his pint-sized sister than him.

“Nigga, pipe down! The most non-fighting’ nigga I know and always wanna talk shit! Shutup!” AJ barked. I tried not to chuckle as Amari frowned, trying to buck up to him and getting humbled with one look in a way that only a big brother could.

“Amari, Ijustsaid calm yo’ goofy ass down.” He turned back to me. “Listen, my sister is grown, so ain’t no need to press you on that. You seem like a cool nigga, so as long as she’s good, ain’t no problems. Amaya tries to play tough all the time, and for the most part, she is, but as hard as she fights, she loves ten times harder. She’s literally the heart of this family, and I just want to see her happy.” I nodded, silently agreeing with everything he said. The way that woman had gone to war for me, even when I didn’t deserve it, was enough to bring me to my knees.

“I completely understand, and I promise to do everything I can to keep her happy,” I agreed.

“That’s all I’m asking, because you a big nigga, so if push comes to shove I ain’t even gon’ fight you, but I got something that will take care of it,” Amari chided. I couldn’t do shit but laugh. Of course my crazy ass girlfriend would have crazy ass family members who threatened to shoot me if I ever hurt her, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Nigga!” AJ snapped. “And another thing, if you tell her any of the good shit we said about her, we ain’t cool no more! Can’t have her head getting too big on us,” he chuckled.

“Got you,” I replied, laughing. I didn’t need them to do shit, because I was singing that woman’s praises at every given opportunity.

We finished chopping it up and headed back outside where Amaya and Mona were dancing to Back That Azz Up like they were in the middle of the dance floor. I had personally been blessed with quite a few of her twerks, so I knew she was keepingit PG since she was around her people because the woman hadskills.

“Ugh! Can y’all stop?” Amari said in disgust. “Ain’t nobody tryin’ to see that!”

“Speak for yourself,” Tahmir chuckled as he sat back in his chair, eyes locked on Mona. I guess they were cool again.

“Oh my God! Who raised these heathens?” Ana asked as she walked up with their Aunt Nell. They both looked at each other, then back at the ladies.

“Y’all did!” they said in unison.

“Yeah, we saw the Freaknik video! Don’t even play!” Mona said as she and Amaya fell all over each other in a fit of laughter.

“Andre!” Ana hollered as she shot a look at her husband from across the yard.
