“Yes! Fuck!” I bellowed. “I’m cumming! OhGod!” He didn’t stop there, leaning in so he could tell me that he loved me too in between kisses while still stroking me. He held me close and looked me in my eyes as I took every inch, still clawing him up in the process. When I first bought my home, I was so proud of my fresh start. There was no room in that house that Malcom had been in, surface he’d touched, or piece of furniture that he sat on.

Chase had marked every damn surface in my house, claiming every bed, ever countertop, every wall. There wasn’t a single space that I didn’t feel his presence. I had no earthly idea how I was supposed to just go back to “normal” when he went back to L.A.. Once he left his mark inside of me, yet again, he told me to hop in the shower because he had somewhere to take me.

An hour later, we were on the highway. I had been enjoying my role as a Passenger Princess and took my duties seriously, carefully selecting the perfect playlist so I could aggressively rap about how niggas weren’t shit, while sitting pretty in the passenger seat ofmynigga’s truck. He just drove with an annoyed expression on his face and an occasional chuckle.

“Chase, we’re going the opposite direction ofanythingin the city.” I looked at him wearily as I wondered if his ass was about to leave me out in some random field. Had I missed all the signs and fucked around and fell in love with a damn serial killer? Then, I remembered how he damn near turned Malcom into a cucumber for fuckin’ with me and my uncertainty instantly dissolved.

“Baby, relax.”

“Okay, but really… where are we going?” I asked, eyes narrowing when he turned into the entrance to Lexington Airport.

“Just ride, baby, damn! You’ll know everything in like five minutes… Just chill.” He opened the door and walked slightly ahead of me to whisper something to security. I damn near strained my neck, trying to lean forward to hear, but got nothing. Once we hit the tarmac, security fell back as we approached a white jet with red lettering that looked slightly different than the other Lexington aircraft.

“Are we about to go on a trip?” I was confused as hell and about to fuss at him for trying to take me out of town without my multivitamins, favorite bonnet, and good fast charger. My damn phone was on twenty three percent and here he was trying to go somewhere.

“I mean, we can. Or we can go tomorrow… or any time we want… It’s ours,” he said with an awkward arm gesture like I had just guessed the right letters on Wheel of Fortune.

“Who is Howard?”

“Who?”

“You said this is ‘Howard’s’?”

“Baby.” He laughed hard as hell. “I said this isours.O-U-R-S.” I didn’t reply, instead staring at him and replaying the last words he said to try to make them make some sort of sense. “Amaya…” When I didn’t reply this time, he grabbed my arms. “Amaya, are you okay?”

“I don’t know. I think I’m losing my hearing… something is wrong.”

“You’re fine. This isourjet. I bought it for us.”

“W-Why would you do that?” I asked.

“Because, I know how you feel about moving, but I also know that I want you with me as much as possible, so I’m hoping this will serve as a happy medium.” Again, I just stared at him because what was the proper thank you for someone that bought you a fucking jet? Should I have just whipped it out and swallowed it right there on the tarmac?

Because I was close.

“Okay, I don’t wanna offend you, but baby, I saw your bank account… can you really affordthis?” He laughed hard as hell before pulling me into another kiss.

“Which account did you see?” I cocked my head to the side, because what the fuck did he mean which one?

“First Regional,” I said sheepishly, knowing I had no business even peeking at his tablet that day, but he was the one who left it unlocked on his banking screen! He had to have known that I was gonna look. He let out another loud ass laugh before pulling me in closer.

“Oh…”

“Oh?”

“That’s my day-to-day money. Trust me, I’m good.” The urge to ask more questions was ready on my tongue, but I decided to let it ride. As soon as he left me alone with that tablet, I was hacking that shit.

“T-Thank you, baby,” I uttered, bottom lip quivering and threatening to give me away.

“That’s all I get?” he teased with a half-smile and his arms open. That was all it took for me to dive into his arms and dissolve into a tearful, blubbering mess. I was trying to say, “Nobody’s ever done anything like this for me before!” but when I played it back in my head, it sounded like complete gibberish. He just laughed and held me, letting me cry it out for what seemed like ten minutes straight. He knew it was about more than the price tag. I wanted to be with him, but Ineededto be home. He understood that and made a way for me to do both. The thought made me start up all over again.

“Come on,” he coaxed, while rubbing my back. “Stop crying so we can go see it.” He pulled a tissue from his pocket and helped me dry my face before leading me up the stairs and into the spacious cabin. Everything was new and spotless, and it looked like it could sit at least ten people comfortably, with a closed off space in the back.

“Baby,” I said warily. “Are yousurethis isn’t too much?” he huffed, looked over at me, then held out his hand. “Gimme your phone.” I handed it to him, watching curiously as he tapped away at the screen like someone who had never used a damnsmartphone before. I was mid eye roll when he turned the screen back to me.

“What thefuck?!” I asked, eyes wide as I started trying to count the zeroes.

“I told you,we good.Aside from my house, my mama’s house, and my grandparent’s house, every dollar I ever made has made me money. I had an incredible investor that got me right from the start, so factoring all my endorsement deals and sponsorships, I could quit today and our kids’ kids could eat off these accounts,” he assured me, planting a kiss on my lips.
