Clara: How did that appointment go with your neurologist?

Marcia: Good, but I don’t like this new medication.

Clara: What did she prescribe? Do you want me to look it up for you?

Marcia: No, dear. You don’t need to do that. Thank you though.

Marcia: That’s not why I reached out to you. I need a favor.

Clara: Anything.

Marcia: I know you said the photos from the wedding didn’t turn out, but I would still love to have a picture of you and my Jonah.

Marcia: Could you send me a few? I know you young people are always taking pictures. You wouldn’t have to print them out or anything. Email would be fine. There’s a young man here at the center who can print them out for me.

Clara: I just looked through my phone and I don’t think I have any of Jonah and me together. I guess he’s camera shy.

Marcia: Maybe you could snap a couple just for me? Maybe on the beach? I’ve never been to the Caribbean and would love to see it.

Clara: Pictures of Caribbean I can do. It is the most beautiful place on earth. And I’ll definitely take one of the two of us the next time he’s here.

Marcia: Isn’t he there now? I thought he left for Belize a few days ago? He said he was going to check on the turtles.

Clara: Right! He’s here.

Clara: I mean, he’ll be here soon.

Clara: He had things to do on the mainland first. For the turtles.

Clara: I will definitely get a picture of the two of us together for you. I’ll send it soon.

Clara

Seven months after the wedding

Yep. I’m absolutely grateful I didn’t block her. Otherwise, how would I have known that my husband was in Belize?

Clara: You’re in Belize?

Clara: Wait. Just heard from Raul.

Clara: You’re here? On Libélula?

Clara: What the hell, Jonah?

Clara: Are you even going to answer me or am I blocked again?

Jonah: How did you know I’m here?

Clara: For starters, your mother told me.

Clara: And then, when I reached out to Raul, he said you’ve been going there on and off for months and that you’re building yourself some kind of house.

Clara: Again. Just in case you didn’t get my previous message:

Clara: What the hell, Jonah?
