“I didn’t have time! I was too busy running here! To you! Because you said it was an emergency!”

“I admit my messages were a bit over-the-top, but I really was panicking,” she argues. “The wedding is less than two weeks away and I remembered I hadn’t chosen a dress for you.”

“Here we are,” Beryl says, coming over with a glass of water. “Why don’t you sit down? Cool off a bit.”

“Would you mind if I change my clothes, Beryl?” I ask, nodding toward the changing cubicle in the corner. “I’m feeling a little overheated in all this fur.”

“Of course,” she says brightly. “And I have good news for you both! I’ve just had an email from a customer canceling her reservation ofthisdress.” She runs to the office at the back again, and reappears moments later holding up a similar satin dress to the others, but in a deep, rich red.

“After all that,” Beryl says, as I glare at Cordelia. “Emergency over!”

Are you free to join us for dinner tonight?

Dad actually snorted

He said you remind him more of R2-D2
