“Water. Yep, let’s get some water.” I step carefully to my left, his cheek still pressed against mine,

and almost as if we’d rehearsed it, he steps too. I do it again, and he’s moving at the same time. One

more step, and I’m there. I fill the glass on autopilot and pull it back to my chest again as I slowly,

carefully turn into him.

Zach lifts his head away, giving me room to move, but he keeps his body right where it is, forcing

me to rub along him as I turn. The look on his face makes me wheeze. I’ve never seen that look. Not

even in movies…at least not the kind of movies I watch. The ferocity and the need there make my

hands tremble.

Agonizingly slowly, Zach’s hands come up and flop on the counter behind me, completely caging

me in. I swallow heavily and push the glass into his chest. “Here,” I croak. A slow, sensual, knee-

shaking smile curves his lips.

“Can’t lift my hands, remember? You’ll have to do it.”

Dumfounded, I stare at him. “You want me to…uh…help?”

“Yes Maya. I do.” The way he draws out my name, nearly stroking the letters, short-circuits my

brain. I raise the glass, pressing the rim against his full lip. His eyes lock on me, and he drinks

slowly, steadily. I vaguely register the motion of his throat as he swallows, but I’m far more

interested in the single drop of water slowly sliding from the corner of his mouth. I watch as it beads

at his chin, threatening to drip.

It happens again. The hussy takes over. Before I can even consider the consequences of my

actions, I lean in and lick the drop of water off his chin, my tongue scraping against the shadow of

stubble.

His eyes flare, and a low groan escapes him as he rears back from the glass. I fumble it, managing

to spill most of it between us. The liquid splashes against our chests. Neither of us cares, though, as

we stare at each other. He presses closer to me, and my brain comes online again, and it’s my turn to

lean away.

His mouth twists. “What game are you playing?”

“I don’t understand,” I murmur, nearly laying on the counter behind me.

“Come on, Maya. You come onto me, then you pull back. Is this your play? Draw me in, tease me,

make me desperate. It’s a good fucking play, but I’m not interested in games. If you want me, just tell

me, and I’ll be happy to scratch that itch.”
