“No, Mrs. Creed—please wait!” he said quickly. “I promise it’s not that. Something is wrong.”

There was a brief pause on the other end.

Amara’s voice immediately changed.

“What’s wrong?” she asked sharply.

Felix instantly straightened, speaking in a hurried and tense voice.

“Mrs. Creed,” Felix said hurriedly, anxiety clear in his tone, “Miss Bianca fell ill at a hotel, so Mr. Creed came to take her to the hospital. But he went inside nearly five minutes ago and hasn’t come out yet.”

Felix glanced nervously toward the hotel again before continuing.

“And he’s not answering any of my calls either. I’m worried something happened to him.”

Silence fell over the line for a moment.

Felix could hear Amara breathing quietly on the other side before she finally spoke again, her tone colder this time.

“Then call hotel security or something,” she said flatly. “If he’s in a hotel room with another woman, you shouldn’t be calling me about it. Handle your boss yourself.”

Felix immediately understood what she was implying, and panic crossed his face.

“No, Mrs. Creed, please—it's not like that,” he said quickly, shaking his head even though she couldn’t see him. “Mr. Creed only came because Miss Bianca called him and said she was terribly sick. I genuinely think something is seriously wrong.”

He tightened his grip on the phone.

“But I can’t enter the room by myself. I don’t have the authority to just walk into a guest’s room.” His voice became more desperate. “You’re his wife. Please, can you come over? I really need to make sure Mr. Creed is alright.”

Amara stayed silent again.

Felix nervously swallowed before continuing softly, “Please.”

Finally, Amara let out a quiet breath on the other end of the line.

“I’m his ex-wife,” she said tiredly. “The hotel staff isn’t going to hand me the password to their room.”

Felix immediately shook his head.

“Mr. Creed already gave me the passcode earlier,” he explained quickly. “I just need you to come with me, please. Just help me check on him once. I promise you can leave right after. I won’t bother you again.”

Amara hesitated.

Felix could almost picture her standing there in silence while thinking about it.

A few long seconds passed before she finally let out a breath of defeat.

“...Alright,” she said quietly. “I’m coming over.”

Relief instantly flooded Felix’s face.

“Thank you, Mrs. Creed,” he said quickly. “Please come as fast as you can. I’m sending you the location right now.”

The moment the call ended, Felix hurriedly sent her the hotel address while continuing to glance nervously toward the building, his uneasiness growing stronger with every passing second.

Amara was at Jasper’s office for a business meeting when she got the call. Since the hotel was close by, it didn’t take her long to arrive.

The moment the cab stopped outside the entrance, she hurried out and spotted Felix waiting anxiously near the doors.
