Fear.

I reach out to touch his hand.“I do.I want you, Ghost. All of you.Not just the parts you think I want to see.”

“I don’t want the darkness to touch you,” he says, standing up.I can feel him shutting down.“Ever.”

“Ghost—”

“I’m going to go work out for a little while.Don’t leave here without me.”

He leaves the kitchen, looking frustrated.

Sighing, I finish the breakfast cake that Ora gave me to cheer me up, and then head back to Ghost’s bedroom.

Before I can make it there, the door beside Ghost’s opens, and Suit steps out in nothing but a pair of gray sweatpants and a smile.

Wow.

I try to keep my gaze on his face, but damn.He has a really nice body. He’s perfectly muscled, not too bulky, and he has tattoos that are strategically placed so that when he wears his professional clothing, you can’t see any of them.

“Good morning,” I manage to get out.

He smiles, flashing sharp white teeth.“It is, isn’t it?Where’s Ghost?”

“In the gym.”

His eyebrows arch.“He still trying to be hotter than your book boyfriends?I told him he should give up.He can’t compete with that wingspan.”

I almost choke on my laughter.“What do you know about wingspan, Suit?”

“A lot of things.”He smirks, then steps closer to me.“Now, why don’t you tell Uncle Suit what’s put that worried look in your eyes.Did you find out about the cameras?”

“Uncle? That’s creepy as hell. And what cameras?”

He laughs but doesn’t answer.

“I do have something on my mind, but I don’t know if you’re the right person to talk to about it,” I admit, tapping my index finger on my bottom lip.“Maybe I should go find Bones.”

“Bones? What’s wrong with me?I’m more mature than he is.”

“You seem like you have a big mouth. And I know you like to shit stir.I need someone I can trust to keep their mouth shut about our conversation.”

“Sweetheart, I’m a lawyer. That is literally my job.”

He studies me.I study him.And then I sigh, “Okay, fine, but don’t make me regret it.If you tell anyone this, I swear, Suit, I will cockblock you for the rest of your life.I’ll tell all the women in town shit about you.”

His slate-gray eyes widen.“Wow, you have a real dark side to you.No wonder you and Ghost are a perfect pair.”He pushes his door open and nods.“Come on, quick. We have about fifteen minutes before he comes looking for you.”

I warily step inside his room, which is surprisingly neat, and sit on the corner of his bed, while he pulls up a chair.

“Okay, tell me.”

“What can I do to make Ghost stop holding back in the bedroom?I want him to use his knife and do all that other kinky shit with me that I know deep down inside he wants to do, but he thinks I’m too good and innocent and that I’ll run away scared,” I blurt out in a rush.

His eyes and mouth open at the same time.I’ve shocked him.I enjoy the moment.“Fucking hell, you two are soul mates.”He clears his throat.“Okay, you’ve come to the right person with that.I know all about kinky fuckery.”

I grin, and he shakes his head in amusement.“When do you want to do this? Now?”

“Yeah, why not?”
