“This isn’t a special offer. Chancey will fuck anything.” I laughed.

“Nuh-uh,” Chancey rebutted. “I’m not blind, sweetheart— no offense to you, Charlie. But I only sleep with the hottest pieces on the market, and both of you are high rollers in that department.”

“You’re not convincing us, Chancey. Go away.” I waved my hand and smirked.

“Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me,” Chancey teased. He winked, then sauntered away.

Charlie leaned in. “Did Chancey just… offer to have a threesome with us?”

“Ignore him. He’s a harmless ho who likes to play around,” I joked.

“I still can’t believe he hit on me,” Charlie said.

“Youarepretty cute,” I teased. Charlie didn’t smile, and that bothered me.

Then something crossed my mind. “Hey… what was he going on about? He said he got you in on a sweet deal.”

Charlie flushed. “Uh, it wasn’t anything. Just talked the guards down when I got in that fight.”

“Oh, so that’s why they let you off easy. I see.”

“Yeah.” Charlie loosened his tie. “Sure.”

Charlie stood, and my legs fell off of him. Oberi grumbled when the movement woke him up. “I’ve uh, gotta get to class, pidge. See ya.”

Charlie walked off with Oberi, and I narrowed my eyes. He didn’t have class for another thirty minutes. I knew his schedule.

Kallie sauntered closer, like she was excited at the idea of teasing me. “He’s keeping something from you.”

“What? No he’s not!”

“He’s acting suspicious as all hell,” she argued. “He just walked off after you confronted him about Chancey. What do you think that means?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know.”

“I’m sayingsomething elseis happening behind closed doors,” Kallie whispered. “And since I know you care about him, you should figure it out.”

I glanced at Marcus for confirmation, who just blushed and looked down at his sketchbook. “Don’t look at me. I know nothing.”

“You knowsomething.Charlie tells you everything,” Kallie argued.

“If hedidsay anything, I’m sworn to secrecy,” Marcus pledged. “You won’t get it out of me.”

“Wanna bet?” Kallie lunged toward him. Marcus immediately jumped up, clutching his sketchbook like he would a set of pearls. Kallie chased Marcus out of the room, and he yelped as she ran after him into the hall. Rishi followed, giving yowls and mews.

As I gathered my things to head to Supernatural Explorations, her words caused my thoughts to race. What was thissomething elseshe was talking about, if anything at all?

It struck me as I was walking down the hallway.Oh, ancestors. Charlie must be sleeping with Chancey. That’s why Chancey talked the guards out of putting him in Cellblock 9 after that fight. Charlie’s giving him the goods.

I didn’t think Charlie was bisexual, but I mean, it wasn’t like I’d ever asked. After all, he and Chancey had been sneaking around a lot lately, and I knew Chancey swung both ways. I wasn’t sure where they went. Charlie always dipped out late at night, and didn’t come back until curfew was almost called.

Ancestors, they weredefinitelyscrewing around. I can’t believe I’d been so oblivious. I couldn’t be mad about it. After all… like Kallie said, I hadn’t claimed him. We weren’t technically dating, so Charlie could mess around with other people.

Though… it was kind of different, thinking about Charlie being with another guy rather than a girl. I don’t think my poor little heart could take it if I knew Charlie was out there sexing up a woman that wasn’tme, although I understood that was hypocritical… I’d given him full permission to do that.

Maybe Charlie had to get his needs met elsewhere after I’d pushed him off me the other day. I didn’t know.

How could IsupportCharlie in this? I wished he’d told me about it, but maybe he was embarrassed. Hadn’t I made it clear I wanted an open relationship? If he was messing around with both meandChancey, he had to be polyamorous, right? I’d never been in a polyamorous relationship before, but I was open to trying anything… I think?
