“Let go of my hips,” Dev commanded, his body rolling, giving the briefest feeling of Dev moving over his cock.
Cash tried to say something as Dev rocked against him. All he managed was another huffed breath. Dev’s fingers slid from back to front through Cash’s hair, fingernails lightly scraping against his scalp. He released Dev’s hips, letting his hands slide down the side of Dev’s thighs. His lover’s muscles flexed against his palm with each movement.
“Come with me,” Dev said, his fingers moving again to cup around Cash’s neck, drawing him forward as Dev lowered to the bed, bringing Cash down with him. Cash braced himself with his palms against the mattress, thrusting, burying himself deeper and harder with every snap of his hips. “Oh fuck.”
“Shhh,” he hushed for no reason. Dev wasn’t loud. If anything, it was the deafening sound of his own heart drumming through his ears that he tried to quiet. He pistoned into Dev’s heat, summoning every bit of his willpower to fight against the building desire even as his balls ached for release.
Cash was determined to draw their pleasure out for as long as he could. He tilted his hips, aiming for the spot that would make Dev melt.
“Fuck, Cash. Goddamn, you’re touchin’ my fuckin’ heart from the inside out,” Dev panted, pushing his ass up to meet him thrust for thrust. “You’re it for me…”
“Same…babe,” Cash panted. He knew exactly what Dev was talking about because he felt it too. Cash pushed off the mattress for better leverage, urging Dev’s hips up too. He drove himself into Dev’s hot channel over and over. His body tingled, amplified by their connection. Everything in his world zeroed in on this moment, into all the emotion and rightness of when they were one. He pumped his hips faster, gripping the sides of Dev’s hips to control their movement.
“You feel good. Too damn good,” Cash murmured.
“Oh fuck yeah,” Dev cried out, his body tensing, the cords in his neck and shoulders strained, making his skin heated and flushed. “It’s what I like. You and me together…”
“Together.” Cash pulled back again, this time teasing his tip around Dev’s entrance before burying himself deep in Dev’s body again. The desire became too much. Dev gave a groan or a moan or both. Cash wrapped his arms underneath Dev’s chest, sealing their bodies together as he rocked his hips back and forth, pressing his lips against Dev’s shoulder blades, tasting the man’s damp skin.
“Augh…” Dev said, his hips humping the mattress as his hand fisted into the bedspread, his knuckles turning white from the intensity of the moment.
Heat rushed through Cash, shooting out from the base of his skull, down his spine, wrapping around his balls and squeezing. “I’m in you so deep.”
“Godyesss…” Dev hissed, his body going stiff as his ass clamped around Cash.
“Yes,” Cash managed, canting his hips, plunging into Dev’s constricting heat. The feeling of Dev falling apart for him pushed Cash over the edge. “Mine,” he roared, emptying himself in Dev’s tight channel. Wave after wave of pleasure weakened his muscles and clouded his brain. He kept thrusting until Dev’s body quivered one last time. He wrapped his arms around Dev, embracing him as they both gasped for air.
“Fuck yeah,” Dev said, his body trembling beneath Cash’s.
Edges of sleep threatened. He didn’t care in the least. Cash reached out for the edge of the bedspread, drawing it over their bodies. With the last of his energy, he moved to his side, bringing Dev with him. He tightened his arms, knowing the angle might be awkward for Dev, but he couldn’t let go. He was never going to let go. Sleep took him under before he managed to say the words aloud.
Chapter 35
Two days later
Cash paced the length of his sports car. Exactly five paces one way, which was one of the many useless things Cash had learned while working this case. Today for example, in the early afternoon hours, he walked back and forth, from bumper to bumper as his guide, cell phone stuck to his ear. He tried to make himself look easygoing, a young hospital administration professional on an important call. In actuality, he was connected to Joe to get a real time play-by-play of the events of the day.
Funeral Day.
He took a deep breath, letting it go on a huff.
This had been one of the hardest things he’d ever coordinated in his life, and he’d barely lifted a hand to help in the actual organization. The problem came with the sheer number of bikers who had descended on the area to pay their respects.
He’d barely seen Dev over the last two days. His love had crawled in bed after two o’clock in the morning only to rise and leave before the sun came up. He missed Dev.
Now, as he paced the parking lot of the clubhouse with Dev and his brothers parked in a purposeful line, ready for the processional to the funeral. They ran two hours behind schedule. It was taking longer than it should for the different clubs to begin their way down south.
“Cash,” Mae called out in the same happy tone she used with her father. She wore a pretty dress. Her long hair curled and bouncing as she ran up to him. He hadn’t even noticed Shanna had pulled into the parking lot, stopping at his rear bumper, her window rolled down.
“What’s taking so long?” Shanna asked, brows furrowed.
“Where’s Daddy?” Mae asked, running until she bumped against his leg, giving him a hug. His hand automatically reached down to caress over the curls on her head.
“He’s at the front of the line.” Cash pointed to where Dev stood, talking with Diesel and another couple of brothers.
“Daddy!” Mae took off running toward her father, past the line of motorcycles and bikers. She was completely at ease in such a masculine environment and ran several yards before Dev finally heard her calling out to him. Dev jerked his head toward Mae then looked past her to Cash. A deep, angry frown turned his plump lips into something sinister. He took off in long strides toward Mae until he could scoop her up, rest her on his hip and continue toward Cash.
“What’s happening?” Joe asked. “You went silent.”
