She deep-throats me. Breath locks in my lungs as her perfect lips swallow my shaft, and I pump into her. And she takes everything until I have nothing left without her.

Kelta licks me clean. “Minty. Kind of tingles.”

I strain to catch my breath. “Glad you like nanosolution. I’d feel terrible if you didn’t.”

She crawls up to me and kisses my neck. “Guess we better get dressed in case we have to get back in the fight soon.

I reluctantly let her help me stand. Getting back into our mostly dried armor, I encourage her back to the bed. “Let’s rest for a few hours. I know you need it. And I could use it.”

Kelta curls up against my chest in the ship inside the cave, the safest way any of us can sleep. We are lucky. No one in the camps gets a chance like this. But they will if we finish the BlazeStar and get off Ellipsis. We can hide in the nebula with the Rogues if they are where we think they are.

As I hold Kelta, the need to destroy the Solcrue so she can be safe consumes me. Solcrue have hurt humans and Titans alike. But until this moment, feeling her warm body against mine, I never really understood why we were protecting each other. It was simply something we did to survive.

This reason matters almost more than survival itself.

I would die for Kelta. I know it in every fiber of my being, not because I’m programmed to, but because I want to if it’s her life or mine.
