“By any chance, did you verify his alibi of being at work until that morning?”
The man nodded.
“Yeah, we called the plant, and we spoke to his boss. Phylis Linzey’s husband, Dave, was at work all night. He tookhis dinner break in the company break room. Not once did he leave.”
Well, that covered that.
“So, we have the first victim being single, and the third married. What about the second?” he asked, just to clarify in their report.
“Single,” Dannie said. “Well, according to her co-workers. Only one of the three was married.”
They both made notes.
Only, now, Gene was going to point out the obvious because it was making him twitchy.
“They are being dropped fast. If he took two on Wednesday night, and then one last night…”
Ethan knew what he was thinking.
The killer was moving quickly, and the only thing that was keeping him from panicking was the fact that it was‘see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil’. There were only three, and they might get lucky.
But he’d just told the female detective they didn’t rule anything out, so he wouldn’t.
Unfortunately, they’d have to wait and see.
“Yes, it’s a possibility that there might be another tonight,” he admitted. “Especially when this hits the news, and this person figures out we found the body dump.”
Oh, boy.
Ethan continued.
“We’re going to have to move quickly,” he added. “While we found the dump site, we don’t know how they connect. So, we have one advantage, but that is wiped out by the speed in which this person is successfully hunting. I am going to assume anything is possible, until we figure out why this is happening.”
Well, that didn’t sound fun.
Not.
At.
All.
The last thing they needed was three more bodies in that same amount of time.
The media would go insane.
And so would Gabe.
The male detective went there.
“We didn’t get to do too many interviews with Phylis Linzey’s case, either. The Tipsy Easelwasn’t open today. We went there thinking they would be open, but it was locked down.”
Leah spoke up.
“Maybe they didn’t have any painting parties scheduled. I can’t imagine anyone walks in off of the street to paint a picture alone.”
She had a point.
Gene made note of it.
