The progress they’d made over the last year didn’t get wiped out over this whole mess after all.

That helped heal Gene too.

Unfortunately, he didn’t get to say anything back because Ethan was already giving him a blowjob. There was that glide into the heat, and how chills crisscrossed his body that froze his brain.

Yeah, his man was working his dick hard out of what felt like desperation.

Oh, and Gene understood that.

It appeared they were having make-up sex, of sorts, and that was exactly what they both needed.

To.

Heal.

Not only that, but they needed to reconnect, and that meant finding their way again.

Honestly, this was a good start. While Gene forgave him, he, too, was shaky.

This scared him to the point that he wanted to hold on harder. It rattled him to his core and made him want to be even more in control.

This changed him in a way he couldn’t explain.

He felt possessive.

Demanding.

And he only hoped he could keep that at bay.

Because Ethan’s choice to run…

There would be consequences, even if he wasn’t angry. He only hoped those choices didn’t destroy him.

As Ethan blew him, Gene stared up at the ceiling, trying to hold onto a semblance of control.

It wasn’t easy.

That fear of having to keep chasing Ethan had him by the balls.

And coincidentally, so did Ethan.

“More,” he demanded. “I need more, Ethan. I need all.”

And the man on his knees understood. There was a time to fight, and there was a time for forgiveness.

Ethan was right where he wanted to be.

On his knees.

Here, he felt in control. What had been missing was back, and now, he could breathe again. Gene reeled him in, giving him a chance to regulate that fight or flight instinct.

Here, he could hide in the calm.

And he would.

As he continued to blow him, Gene’s hand was knotted in his hair. Somehow, the hair tie disappeared and was replaced by that iron grip.

It was punishing.
