FREEDOM FROM HER FATHER

Molly wasn’t sure she could pull this off.

That she was about to ask Dean to take her to bed.

But she’d decided that she’d been playing a role with him and the woman she was portraying would be the type who would do this.

Right? She thought so.

And she was having so much fun that she wanted to see if she could take this next step.

Not only that, she wanted it like the mean girl in high school stole everyone’s boyfriend. She wanted this more than freedom from her father... which was saying a lot.

Dean wasn’t just some beef head bartender who hit on women and got in their pants like she’d thought. At least she hoped not.

Not someone who talked about his son as much as he had on this date. Or told her how he’d brought Jonah to work with him so they could spend more time together.

He’d have to be living two different lives and she refused to believe that.

There was something about him that was more considerate than she’d thought he’d be.

He made her feel like if she slipped and said something smart, that he wouldn’t look at her as if she were a nerdy researcher.

That they could have serious conversations without judgment.

He was watching her now as they walked back to their cars. Like he was waiting for her to change her mind. “Just want you to know that I don’t do this much. I can see you’re almost regretting bringing it up.”

Phew, it’s like he saw through that. “The same. I want to. I’m not sure what it is about you that is making me do this but I don’t want to change my mind.”

Which was another thing she liked about him. He’d touched her a few times but hadn’t beentouchy. He hadn’t tried to kiss her, and sex hadn’t even come up as part of the conversation.

It was her who was taking this step.

And he was still letting her call the shots.

“We have until we get to your place for you to change it.”

“I’m not. I don’t live that far from here.” She pulled her phone out and texted her address. “In case we get lost at lights.”

They both climbed in and drove away.

She almost called Ruby. Erika, she’d be afraid of judgment still. Not that she really thought her sister would, but maybe she didn’t want to take that chance either.

But Ruby coming into her life as an adult felt more like a friendship.

It was horrible to feel this way, but the life Ruby lived, she believed Ruby would think nothing of what Molly was about to do.

Not even ten minutes later, she pulled into her apartment complex, her nerves stretched to the limit, her lady parts almost vibrating with what was to come.

Good lord, it’d been so long since she’d had sex and someone who looked like Dean was going to take her to her room.

They got out together, he put his hand in front of her to grab it, she didn’t hesitate.

The minute their fingers touched, there was an avalanche of sensations shouting through every vein in her body.

This was right. She felt it.

If she had regrets, they’d come later. After she’d seen the hot guy in front of her naked.
