“Your father’s estate,” he snapped with another jerk to her gown, the seams offering up a crackling hiss as they began to split.
“That’s… that’s all it was,” Elena asked, so surprised by the meager amount she forgot to guard her tongue. Three hundred dollars would have gotten her nothing. It wouldn’t have even been enough for an apartment if what Jamie had said was true. Her dreams shattered around her, drifting down to slice her open until she was raw and bleeding before Leon’s anger.
“Is that all you wanted a mate for then,” Leon demanded as he came up onto the bed, her gown clenched in both of his fists now. “Well, I have your mighty fortune now, Miss Costanzo. What ever shall we do with it?”
“It isn’t yours!” It was the only thing she could think to say as he straddled her legs, bringing his face close as he pulled her up to him.
“Far be it from me to keep your great wealth, Miss Costanzo. Would you prefer it in small bills so that you might roll about in it?” His breath was hot as it fanned across her face, the hint of whiskey teasing along her senses as his mouth brushed against hers. “Tell me, just how much would it take for you to spread those pretty little legs of yours?”
Her arm arced through the air before he caught it, crushing her wrist in his firm grip as he forced her hand back down by her side. Elena sobbed, shaking her head to deny everything he had said and the punishment he would surely dole out now. Why was he talking to her like this? Treating her like a common whore.
“You have embarrassed yourself for the last time, Omega,” Leon said as he twisted his fist in the front of her gown. “And in this bed, you will wear nothing but my scent!”
With that he wrenched his hand back, splitting her gown into ragged pieces as the motion jerked her into his body. He growled, the deep sound reverberating through his chest as his hand slid to her back. Kneading her tender skin in rough swipes as he brought her flush. Pushing her against a hardness that dug into her sternum, his hips angling so he crushed her cheek against it.
She knew what it was.
Her breath stuttered in her lungs, the frigid air paralyzingher as he hunched over her huddled form. His hands worked over her, baring even more of her skin to the cold as he made pleased sounds above her. Elena bit her lip hard, clenching her teeth against the scream that battered the back of her throat. She refused to give him the satisfaction of her terrified sounds. She could do nothing to dampen her fear souring the very air around her, but she would not let him hear her beg.
Not again.
Leon shoved her flat, rumbling as he crushed her beneath him. Moving over her with long sways of his body, working his way between her trembling thighs. Forcing her to open to him as she turned her head aside to hide the single tear that managed to slip past her defenses.
She couldn’t stop him forever. He’d given her a day. Two, really. It was more than she could have hoped for after his savagery at the hotel.
“Look at your Alpha,” Leon husked, grinding his hips against her.
Elena turned her head back towards him but refused to meet his eyes. Centering her gaze somewhere around his chin, she gave him her attention.
It wasn’t enough.
Leon growled, palm closing over her breast to knead it with rough fingers. Elena winced, smoothing her expression in the next instant as he pulled his hand away in a rush. Nothing he could do to her now would hurt more than that awful night, and she should be thankful he seemed to be taking it slow. Still, she couldn’t lose herself in instinct just yet, and so she felt every harsh grunt, each coarse swipe of his clothes against her.
Then he kissed her.
Mouth closing over hers, his tongue teased along the seam of her lips. Luring out a response as he cradled her jaw in his wide palm. His quiet sounds of pleasure ringing in her ears as sheslowly opened to him. Allowing his invasion, welcoming his gentle assault on her senses as he licked over her.
Elena gasped, arching into him as he twined his tongue around hers, the slide of slick muscle so unfamiliar, so sinfully decadent, she didn’t know what to do with herself. A tentative lick of her tongue in return earned her a growl so rich it made her shudder. Her hands fluttered at her sides, indecisive and shy until he grabbed them up and linked her arms around his neck. Urging her to cling to him as he deepened the kiss. Redoubling his assault upon her as he fed her his pleasured sounds. Slipping them down her throat until he gave a call.
Instinct alone had her legs hitching high upon his hips. Spun sugar and evergreens invaded her every sense as she writhed beneath him. Pulling him to her in fretful tugs, wanting so much more as the smooth fabric of his shirt sighed against her hardened peaks.
This is what she’d dreamed it would be like with an Alpha. Not at all bad. Good, even, as his hands worked their way down to her hips to guide them into a careful rhythm that made her gasp against his lips as insurmountable pleasure scorched through her veins when he struck something just so.
He ruined the moment of her wavering resolve as he pulled back with a cruel smirk painting his lips, his palm bringing her up snug against the hardness straining behind the zipper of his pants.
It was only instincts. He didn’t care for her. Wanted only what every Alpha wanted of an Omega.
Turning away on a shuddering inhalation, she refused to let him see the dreamy haze lifting from her eyes. Knew she couldn’t hide all the effects he had upon her body as her hips jerked at the teasing thrust. He wanted her excited. Lost in it.
Elena knew it would be better if she was, but she’d lost the thread of her pleasure. There was nothing now but the feeling of being lost and alone with a male who cared so very little forher. Why he should bother now when he hadn’t before made little sense.
The man himself made little sense, so there would be no figuring out his reasons for anything.
“I said look at your Alpha,” Leon growled, pinching her chin to drag her face back to meet his.
Elena flinched and gasped, eyes screwed up tight as she waited for a blow to come with the command. When he just sat still above her, making no more efforts to tease out her response, Elena glanced up to his dark gaze, only to look away just as quickly.
The deep umber of his eyes was thrown into shadow, turning the dark shade almost black. It was only that he was so close that she could discern the brown hue at all, but for all the anger held within them, she’d wished she’d never dared to look.
