I’m sure my face is the color of a tomato.
What’s happening to me?
“Y’all, our big city girl just had a moment,” Nora says.
“Oh, stop it.” It’s a lame attempt at hiding the obvious.
There we go laughing again.
April says, bursting into the kitchen. “What are y’all laughing about? We can hear you from the shop.”
April Williams is another helper. She usually starts later, but today is Friday, and since two staff members are away until Sunday and Monday respectively, we need the extra hands.
“Nothing,” Miranda says. “Everyone back to work. We have hungry people to fee.” Her exaggerated stern voice only makes us giggle more.
April frowns my way.
I shrug in feigned ignorance.
Chapter 4
Rhett
For hell’s sake.
Where is she?
I’ve been looking all over for the beauty that slipped away from me. It’s in vain.
Thanks for nothing, Mr. Devon.
That man is the reason why I hesitated coming into town for so long. How dare he belittle my relationship with Jenkins and April? The Williams siblingsaremy family. End of story.
I shake off the old man’s comments and resume my search.
I need to find her.
After a few long minutes, I give up.
I’ll have to be content with the memory of her.
That’ll make for some pretty hot spank bank material.
Her eyes were so captivating… but then, every part of her was as well.
Her pale skin has been barely kissed by the sun. Either she just landed in town or she works locked up all day. I can imagine the feel of her supple skin against the palm of my hands.
As my gaze traveled down the length of her heavenly body, I had to swallow a groan. Those banging curves should beoutlawed in these parts. Heck, there should be an international warning.
Damn.
I got an eyeful of her, but it was way too brief. There was no mistaking the roundness and heaviness of her breasts—even under her black t-shirt.
And that ass...
I’m sure it’s a work of art.
Double damn.
