For an LA girl, Riley knows how to throw a great cookout.
The garden is packed with people.
My bosses built this area for parties when they added all the bunkhouses for the staff. It’s a great idea. Considering how many of us are out here, it doesn’t feel crowded one bit.
Riley, Jake, and Hunter invited all the ranch hands, the ladies from Riley’s shops and a few neighboring farmers. Most of the ladies are taken, but Jenkins told me a few are single. Riley has a knack for hiring the prettiest girls in the area.
I check the time on my phone.
Jenkins and I got here not long ago, but it feels like I’ve been here for an hour.
Maybe I should mingle.
Nah. Maybe I should have another beer.
I take the last swig of my beer and turn, ready to go grab another one when I catch Miranda talking to a gorgeous woman. My eyes are glued to her profile and I drink her all up.
Real nice.
Then, she turns her head.
I freeze.
My jaw drops.

Just when I was about to give up on ever finding her again, she’s at arm’s length.
