Since Riley was working at her office on the ranch with Allison and Miranda, I was able to make the announcement to all three ladies about my new relationship status. Riley proclaims she knew I’d meet someone on the night of the cookout, which is why she refused I set foot in the kitchen and stay out to mingle. No pressure, but she expects me to name my first born after her. You got to love her.

Today, I had a long list of errands to take care of, I had to pop into the grocery store to stock up, and played gardener.

Thank God for Ali, Miranda, and Isadora who graciously agreed to water my garden while I was away. Even little Erika helped. Okay, she held the tail end of the hose, but that counts. Riley’s youngest daughter is too adorable for words.

Even with the help, my little garden needed tending. It’s been so hot and sunny, there was a lot of weed. It was three hours of hard work, a fierce battle of weed against girl, but in the end, the girl won.

I’m on my way back from Allison’s house after dropping off a few garden tools on her porch I borrowed when I take a detour back to my house. Humming a song that’s been looping in my head, I stroll towards the fenced-in pasture not far from the barns. It’s where the ranch hands train young horses. Since I live on such spectacular land, it would be a shame not to take advantage of it every chance I have.

Okay, okay, I’m lying.

I’m hoping to catch a glimpse of my sexy man.

I miss him.

Yesterday after a full day of work, Rhett was out with Jake and Hunter buying new horses for the ranch. He didn’t get back until late. Since he had an early start this morning, we couldn’t see each other. I haven’t seen him since he dropped me off at my place on Monday.

Life can be so cruel.

The sky is a spectacular shade of blue, the sun’s rays still scorching hot even this late in the day. I place a hand against my forehead to shield my eyes as I admire how the sun seems to float effortlessly between a stream of white puffy clouds.

I like living out here more each day.

The sound of horses neighing pulls my attention.

A bunch of ranch hands and young horses are out there, but I only have eyes for one guy. Granted, his imposing figure is hard to miss, but there’s something else that captures my attention.

Riley keeps boasting about shirtless ranch hands. I’ll admit to having appreciated a few delicious bodies from afar since I arrived, but none as much as the one I’m staring at now.

In the five days since I met Rhett, I’ve only seen him with his shirt open. Never off. Even when we were on our first date, he made sure to keep it PG.

Seeing him bare-chested is a glorious sight.

Rhett is training a white horse, leading it as he circles the gated area.

I was never oblivious to Rhett’s strong physique, but shirtless under the beaming sun, I can only ogle in awe.

He’s so damn hot.

Even at a distance, I can tell his torso is covered in sweat. I’m not sure I had a preference until now, but chest hair that’s not wild is a beautiful thing.

The man is oozing with sexiness.

And he says he’s my guy.

Thank you, God.

He sees me and waves.

I blush and wave back before moving my attention to something else. I’d hate for the other ranch hands to read the desire in my eyes. Instead, I focus on the white horse.

Is it a female or a male?

Allison swears that after nearly two years on a ranch she can tell from the slight difference in size. I’m still clueless. I have no idea why this becomes a preoccupation, but I find myself checking out the horse’s anatomy.

Whoa.

That’s a mighty sword.
