Tears welled up in my eyes, and I crashed into Daddy, wrapping my arms tightly around him. “Thank you, Daddy. I love it so much.” I desperately craved to tell him I loved him, not just the tiara. But here in the club, even if the changing room was nice, wasn’t where I wanted to tell my Daddy I loved him for the first time, so I held back.
Daddy wrapped his arms around me and placed several soft kisses on the top of my head. I could tell he was struggling to get around my tiara, and it made me smile.
“Thank you for my gift, Daddy. Can we go see the playroom now?”
Daddy pulled back and planted a wet, noisy kiss on my lips, making me burst out into a fit of giggles. “Of course, darling, let’s go put our belongings in a locker and we’ll meet up with the others.”
After what felt like an eternity, but was probably only about twenty minutes, we were finally arriving at the door to the playroom.
David opened the door and let us inside, and what I saw had both Tristan and me gasping with wonder. The room was full of everything a little could want. There was a reading corner that held different-sized bean bags and several bookshelves lined with books for various ages. There was an art station and various types of toys. They even had a gaming section for middles.
The entire room was a little paradise, but what really took my breath away was the huge wall that was covered in my Daddy’s art. The mural was a forest scene, and each tree and blade of grass was expertly detailed, making the scene feel alive. There were hanging vines and vibrant flowers, and it made the space feel magical.
“Daddy, this is amazing.”
Tristan squealed, and his pacifier shot out of his mouth, but was saved by the clip attached to it. “It wooks amazin, Uncle David.”
I turned to David, his face bright and smiling, obviously thrilled by Tristan’s new name for him. “Thanks, buddy. I’m so glad you like it. Are you little ones ready to play?”
“Yes, Daddy!”
“Yes, Uncle David.”
Tristan and I both took a moment to look around the room and decide what we wanted to do first. Tristan let out an exhaled gasp, and I looked over to see him pointing to a stack of giant foam blocks that were tucked away in a corner. “Pway wif dos?”
“Those look super fun! Let’s go!”
Chapter fifteen
David
My heart felt incredibly full as I watched my princess and their best friend bounce over to a gigantic stack of large foam blocks.
Daniel and I watched with lovesick eyes as our littles started stacking the blocks into various shapes.
“Just watching them have fun together is enough to make me feel ten years younger.”
I couldn’t help but laugh. Daniel’s statement caught me off guard, but he wasn’t wrong. Something about watching our littles fully embracing their roles was rejuvenating in a way I never expected.
“I understand what you mean. Their joy is infectious.”
The door to the playroom opened, and Jack walked in, making me smirk. Even though I’d seen him several times over the past few days, I hadn’t told him about Ellery yet. Not because I didn’t want to, butbecause I wanted to see the look of shock on his face when both Daniel and I came in with our partners, and the payoff was well worth it. Jack’s shock had only been visible for a split second, but that second was glorious.
When he left us earlier, I knew it wouldn’t be long before he came back. It looked like I was right.
“Well, it looks like I owe you both a congratulations.”
Daniel glanced over at his boy and smiled. “Thank you, Jack.”
Jack nodded and then made his way over to me and laid a hand on my shoulder. “Well, look who’s the lucky bastard now?”
I didn’t even feel sorry for the shit-eating grin that now covered my face. “Damn right I am. My princess is perfect.”
Jacked stepped back, and his face was beaming, but I couldn’t miss the slight envy in his eyes. “I’m so happy for you both. So, how did you meet your princess?”
I thought back to the first time, just a week ago, that I’d laid eyes on my precious princess. It was hard to believe it had only been one week since Ellery came into my life. In such a short amount of time, they’d become my whole world.
Raising my hand, I pointed to where Tristan and Ellery were playing with the foam blocks. “Ellery is Tristan’s best friend, and they were over at Daniel’s having a sleepover. When they woke the following morning, both littles had fevers. Daniel texted me asking for assistance, and since you sent me home with orders not to come back for at least twenty-four hours, I agreed.” I scoffed playfully.
