There was nothing wrong with it. It was perfect, actually. Exactly what Nick wanted, if it meant he could spare them both some heartache—but that was wishful thinking.
“If you don’t want to fuck…”
Nick didn’t let Reece finish that sentence, having a feeling it was about to involve the possibility of Reece fucking someone else, and Nick refused to hear it.
Nick did want to fuck Reece. So bad he could hardly stand it.
“I’ll fuck you, Ree. So hard you’ll be feeling me for days.” He leaned into Reece again, this time bringing his lips to Reece’s ear. “But the first time you start thinking it means more or expecting more, I’m walking away. Understand?”
Reece nodded shakily.
“Use your words.”
“O-okay,” Reece whispered. “I understand.”
“Then come on,” Nick said, pulling Reece along by his hand toward the parking lot and his waiting motorcycle. “I’ve got a theory I wanna test out.”
“A theory?” Reece asked, hurrying to keep up with Nick’s long strides, even with his own long legs—beautiful long legs that Nick wanted wrapped around him.
“Yeah,” Nick mused, “I think you like playing in public, so we’re gonna see if that’s the case.”
“Ooh! Nicky! You’ll fuck me in public?”
“Maybe. If you’re good.”
“I’ll be good for you,” he promised, and goddammit, Nick was hard.

Chapter 9 - Reece
The night went nothing like Reece expected it to. While it had admittedly been strange for Nick to invite Reece out for dinner alone, Reece thought that it was due to the fact that things were going well between them lately and Nick liked that. Thought that Nick wanted more, in a sense. That much was true at least, but not true in the way Reece desired most.
Nick clearly wanted him, but he went out of his way to make it abundantly clear that desire was strictly physical. Even though they were friends, he wasn’t willing to get caught up in anything more than that.
I just fuck.
Nick’s words had been playing in Reece’s mind since they left Nick’s mouth. It devastated him to be called out, never feeling more in the spotlight than he had when Nick pinned him against that building and pressed him for a confession Reece kept under lock and key. No matter what.
Omit the whole truth. Give him enough of it to deflect his concerns. Reece wanted all of Nick, but he also wanted any part of Nick he could get. If that meant only getting to have sex with him on Nick’s time then Reece would take it. No matter what he wanted most, Reece was willing to settle if it meant he could still have Nick.
Because Nick was who Reece had always wanted. His first true crush. His inspiration and muse. The object of Reece’s desires. Nick was perfect for Reece. Tall, dark, sexy as hell, with dick so good it was no wonder Reece couldn’t help wanting it. But it was more than all that. It was Nick’s strength in all things, his big fragile heart, and all the little moments they shared.
He didn’t need hearts and flowers. Didn’t even need cuddles and kisses. Reece just needed Nick. Needed those smoldering, deep blue eyes watching him. That shameless mouth telling him everything he didn’t know he wanted to hear. Those strong hands on him. His presence, as close as Reece could have him.
By some miracle, Reece was able to convince Nick that he didn’t care about anything more than having a good time, and Reece was beside himself with relief and joy to know that, even if only for a little while, he still had Nick.
And not only had Nick—who apparently hated dates—took Reece to dinner, but he brought him to the movie theater too.
“Nicky, what are we doing here?” Reece asked after his helmet was carefully removed by Nick.
Nick’s hand reached out, palm up, taking Reece’s until he stepped off the bike. Then they began walking toward the theater together. “Isn’t it obvious? We’re here to play.”
“Kinky Nicky,” Reece said softly under his breath, cheeks warm. He wrapped his arms around Nick’s left as they stepped up from the parking lot to the walkway approaching the ticket window, getting in line behind several other people. “But what will we play?”
If Nick even looked his way, Reece doubted he could stay quiet. So, if Nick touched him…
Nick slid his hands in his pockets but didn’t try to shake Reece off of him, so Reece gladly just kept holding on. “You’ll see.”
