“For you? Fuck yes.”

Juniper grazed her hands over Rowan’s nipples. Rowan gripped the skin around Juniper’s hips and moaned into her kiss.

“Lay down,” Juniper commanded.

Some immeasurable amount of time later, Juniper climbed up and wrapped herself around Rowan, intertwining their sweat-glistened limbs, and they rested into each other, somewhere in that lucid semi-consciousness after a really, really great fuck.

Rowan was lurched out of her postcoital euphoria when Juniper lifted her head suddenly. “What time is it?”

They both scrambled to get up, grabbing bits and pieces of their discarded clothes and heading to the bathroom to clean up as best they could.

“Ro, I look crazy,” Juniper observed as she stared at herself in the bathroom mirror while trying to slide her underwear back up her legs.

All Rowan could do was watch her jiggle her ass back into them from behind, as the thin straps caught around her hips. Juniper caught her eyes in the mirror.

“No,” she emphasized with a giggle, “we have to go back downstairs now.”

“Fine, but…” Rowan started to protest.

Juniper turned around to face her and slid her arms around her hips to pull her body against hers. “But what?”

“Let me help,” Rowan said before kissing her lips tenderly, fingers pulling the straps of her underwear the rest of the way up and snapping them against her hips.

“Behave,” she warned seductively, kissing her again before pushing her back, “plus it’s going to take me longer to get ready than you.”

“Look at me, you completely undressed me. I have to start all over.” She laughed as she waved a hand down her body. “And I have to put all this shit back on while I’m sweating still.”

“You ripped my skirt!”

“Fine. That’s fair. We can be even.”

“It’s totally not even.”

“Just don’t put anything back on. Come back to bed with me.” Rowan knew she was pouting and could not care less.

“Well, wecouldskip the closing remarks, but I think we should be responsible.”

“Aren’t you normally the rule breaker? What has happened to you?” Rowan scoffed at her. “Also, Juniper, did you really give me a hickey?” She pointed at the bruising skin where her neck met her chest.

“What?” Juniper feigned innocence. “Your shirt collarwill cover that up.”

Saltwater is a purifying agent; its creation and usage is ceremonial in nature.

Chapter 25

Juniper couldn’t have been happier as she plopped down into the seat next to Rowan behind Rowan’s desk. The four days she’d spent in New York, at the conference, had been some of the most fulfilling and love-filled days of her life. She sat back and crossed her legs. She looked around the office and sighed in complete contentment.

“You look happy.” Rowan peered over at her.

“So, so happy.”

“That’s good because we have expenditure reports to go over.”

“Ugh,” Juniper groaned. “Let’s do those later.”

“That’s the problem. Wekeepsaying ‘let’s do those later,’ but now’s that later time.”

“Alright,” Juniper conceded. “Pull them up.”
