The next morning Rowan woke to the sunlight pouring in through the crack between the curtains in her room. Curtains that Juniper had picked out for her, and she had hung. She felt Juniper’s leg draped across her lower body, and she smiled as she ran her hand up the back of her calf and across her thigh, paying special attention to trace the sliver of brown skin turned golden from the sunlight around her tattoo.

She wasn’t sure what she had done right in the world to deserve this, but she was never letting it escape from her again. She was so incandescently in love, she felt like she had exploded sometime last night between their multiple rounds of sex.

She slipped on her glasses and turned on her side toward Juniper who was sprawled out on her stomach. She worried she might wake her when she started to trail her fingers up and down her back, but selfishly she wouldn’t be disappointed if she did.

Rowan’s thoughts flashed to worshiping the peaks and valleys of Juniper’s curves, the soft planes of her inner thighs, and the entrancing spot of their convergence.

Yeah, sex is sacred, when it’s with Juniper Banks.

She was going to have to see if the health office had any more of those stickers.

Fuck.

She couldn’t help but laugh out loud. She might have to get Juniper to poke that tattoo into her chest.

Juniper peeped one eye open. “What’s got you laughing so early?”

“I was just thinking about that sticker you have on your water bottle. Sex is sacred,” Rowan admitted slyly as her hands rounded over the curve of Juniper’s ass.

Juniper reached over to pull her in for a kiss. “Don’t worry, I’ll get you one.”

“Also, good morning.”

“Good morning,” Juniper responded, smiling into her lips as she kissed her again. “Mmm the glasses,” Juniper groaned, as she leaned back taking her in.

“Oh these do something for you?”

Rowan grasped her chin and smirked against the eager kiss Juniper pressed into her lips before she got a chance to finish the one she was trying to initiate.

“Oh, they definitely do.”

“Noted.” Rowan released her chin, but she wasn’t done with her yet. “I wasn’t sure you were ever going to let me recover.” She rolled Juniper over and slid between her legs.

Juniper giggled. “Making up for lost time and all that.” She trailed her hands lower down Rowan’s stomach.

“Ah, mhm, that’s gotta be it,” Rowan teased back, grasping Juniper’s hands and pinning them above her head. Juniper pressed her body up to meet Rowan’s mouth as she kissed and nibbled her way down her neck and across her breasts. Rowan was so turned on by how freely Juniper expressed exactly what she wanted, and by how easily she could make Juniper’s body respond to her touch.

She could touch Juniper for a lifetime, and it still wouldn’tbe enough. She wanted to wake up in the same bed with her every morning. She wanted to spend every day showing her how deeply she was loved, showing her all of the ways she deserved to be loved. Then she wanted to put her to bed that night, to start over, and do it all over again the next day.

Juniper slid a leg between Rowan’s and pressed up against her center. She groaned into the teasing bite she was giving Juniper’s neck. Even though it would have been so easy to give into that gratification, and she wanted to, really badly, Rowan responded by slipping back in between Juniper’s legs and spreading her own so that Juniper’s knees pushed up towards the headboard.

“No. My turn again.”

Chapter 21

“Idid end up inviting Beckett. I hope that’s not weird.” Rowan leaned in to hand Juniper a bag of marshmallows.

Juniper was busy at work in Rowan’s kitchen, putting together trays of snacks for Wren’s bonfire demand. As usual, Juniper had done too much and gotten way too much food.

“The General?” Juniper shot back curiously as she arranged some marshmallows on a large divided platter with graham crackers and chocolate bars.

“Well, you know we’ve had a couple beers together since the Council meeting. Did you know she was a pilot in the Army? Part of some secret ops team or something like that.”

“Really? I did not know any of that. I’m glad you took her up on her offer. I think that’s great,” Juniper said as she smiled at Rowan.

“Thanks.”

Rowan shifted to rest her back against the counter right next to Juniper and smiled back.
